It costs considerably more for concrete. The ride is much smoother as long as the road bed is not washed out like in the Bronx.

MNRR TIM (ticket issuing machine), does one thing. It eliminates the auditors job in the revenue dept. It slows the conductor down if anything. They have been in use for @ 2 weeks now. Credit Card sales are not available as of now. The machine does have a bar scanner built in. MNRR gates their train...

It's only 1 bridge, Conn.River. Nan, & Shaws Cove are not hurdles. I still cant imagine why CDOT and the USCG cannot get some kind of agreement on running additional trains. I see very few large boats running up the river, it's very shallow and mostly pleasure crafts. NLC is west of the Thames, ...

The first thing that Connecticut should do is to purchase the tracks outright from Amtrak. Amtrak has to be losing a ton of money on this line. The Vermonter which is subsided by Vermont is the only viable train. Connecticut has to control it's own destiny and not be held hostage by Amtrak and Congr...

If you think theres room in the vestibules on AM peak trains your nuts. There are people standing in the aisles on most of my trips into the city. They allow bikes on the trains everyday, but they have to be able to fold up.

Fred G or Otto should go to Waterbury for photos. Brookville 125 was used today on the shuttle.

Train 1923 turns to 1323 @ Stamford. If it became a true thru train ridership would pickup .The connection is 1723 which is full when it reaches Stamford.

There are lots of buses going the opposite direction to the casinos daily. There is demand for rail service to NLC. The state is in a budget crunch. The CG rules could be changed as well I imagine. MNRR bridges are always closed and the boats are the ones that wait. When oil hits 200 a barrel then p...

They turn almost all the SLE trains at OSB. With the island platform they dont have to go further east to clear up. CDOT is always slow with capital projects. There should be a minimum of 4 car platforms on both sides with pedestrian flyovers at every stop. Niantic should get a stop but I imagine th...

56 were you turned down by the LIRR. What is your obsession with the Conductors rate of pay? The MTA Police get payed quite well also. In an event of a fire inside the tunnels with a 10 car train would you expect the engineer to guide 1000 people safely out. After the events of 911 there should be m...
