Weekend shuttles from Harriman are enough. Plus there's ShortLine daily.
There's still Hillburn Yard in Suffern and local industry along the Bergen Line, as well as down to NS Croxton Yard in Secaucus.

Going back, when did Queens Village freight burn down? I studied mid-60s aerials and no freight building at the team track/freight platform area west of the station. If a freight house even existed, it appears to have been there much earlier than that.
Of course, if you want to see farms and stables, Gladstone is your line. That is WEST of Bernardsville only. I don't recall seeing any horse farms or stables east of there. The eastern to middle half of the P&D is surrounded by some residental homes, lots of trees, and mainly swamp land(I guess...

The NJ DOT GIS mapping programs probably produces some of the best and most informational maps available. Even so, they often contain errors. The latest edition NJ Railroad map (2007) has various errors, many which been unchanged for quite some time: -The Rahway Valley is shown as active from Summit...
The Tennent freight station in Manalapan on the Conrail Freehold & Jamesburg Railroad still exists, at Main Street (County Route 3).
Belmar no longer stands, but the freight yard siding and platform at Bradley Beach still remains.
I call #59 (Port Jervis Superexpress) "The Clipper" due to the way it speeds or clips through Bergen County.
The red brick house is the one in question.
Aerial mapping shows what appears to be a old freight platform and the remains of a small yard (with some MoW stored here) to the west of Queens Village station on the south side. Is this the old freight station, or was it closer to the 1924 passenger station, or on the team siding next the eastboun...
