8607 and 8608 have been delivered to BNSF, as 8607 was that 8500 on SWS (with a BNSF set). 8508 was at 14th street coupled to 2 other coaches.

All the cab cars have been delivered. Only a handful of trailers remain to be delivered and should be delivered soon. The days of 790's and 800's leading on BNSF are over as 8500's, 8600's, and one or two 8400's lead.

I saw 8473 on a BNSF set a few weeks ago. It was not leading though.

8605 is on SWS, on a SWS set. 14th Street removed a 7400 today and placed 8605 in front of 8475. Maybe 8605 is on SWS to stay for a while.

If anyone is interested ... the VRE in Virginia is picking up the order process from the new Metra Galleries.
I work for the consulting company in charge of this new car procurement process
As the new car stuff comes in i can get all sorts of pictures and info and post them. The VRE cars should be almost identical to the METRA cars.
The company i work for was also in charge of purchasing all the cars in this thread.
Although i can tell you Nippon Sharyo(the manufacturer) can be a bear to work with these are going to be GREAT cars

Now that all of the 6000/6100 - 8500/8600 series cars have been delivered, the "New Cars II" Topic has lost its need to be stickied. The thread will be kept open for discussions, so feel free to continue posting.

Just in case you haven't seen, this was in the VRE forum.
Those colors look good. Looks like what would have resulted had BN kept ownership of the commuter operation, and also adopted the experimental orange and black striping they put on some engines in the 80s.
