By checking the train status on Amtrak.com (I checked status by train numbers and putting in a station close to the final destination of the train):
UPDATE: As of 5:11 PM ET, Capitol Limited Train 29, which departed Washington (WAS) on 2/12, has reversed to Washington, and will terminate due to a disabled freight train along the route. For assistance, please call/text 1-800-USA-RAIL.
As of 4:16 PM CT, due to a disabled freight train near Martinsburg (MRB), Capitol Limited Train 30, which is scheduled to depart Chicago (CHI) on 2/12, has been canceled. For assistance, please call/text 1-800-USA-RAIL.

Amtrak canceled the Southwest Chief between LAX and ABQ today because a BNSF freight derailed near the Arizona/New Mexico border...

And it was carrying hazmats:

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – A train derailment has caused a closure, authorities said.

According to New Mexico State Police (NMSP), east and westbound lanes on I-40 near milepost 8 are closed.

Authorities at BNSF Railway said a train derailed near Houck around 12:42 MT. No injuries were reported, and they are trying to clear the site.

NMSP said the train was carrying gasoline and propane, which started on fire. The incident is being treated as a “hazardous materials incident.” The cause of the derailment is under investigation.
