Status of the **Work Engine** fleet

The AMMO towed a five car trainset into Stamford this afternoon with GP35R 103.

104 and 105 on a concrete tie work train on the hudson line near Manitou station (CP46).

That's cool, especially since 105 is supposed to be the former Reading 3637.

104 and 105 were on a ballast train (WX104) on Thursday north of Croton.

4/13 at 1422hrs, 103 hauling a dead M2 set and the inspection train heading eastbound thru Larchmont. Interesting consist.

Saw this as well, definitly an interesting consist. How many cars can be towed with a compromise coupler and how fast can they go as per regs?

10 cars or less, 50mph if the locomotive is in the lead, more than 10 cars in tow only 10mph.

And since it was hauled by the 103, Cab signal should limit the unit to 45 MPH max with a normal aspect, if it has been correctly sealed and certified. Since the move was a non-revenue move, it has to be moved at freight speeds.

P.S lets keep this to the status/sightings of the work engine fleet before this forum gets locked as well

Taken April 7, 2009, looking at Marble Hill.

MN 750 North through Harrison @ 2100hrs and then back South at 2157hrs.

Word has it, the 750 (ex-NYC T.T GP9) is being prepped for storage.

to bad the engine was harmonized before retirement, as torpedo tube GP-9 it had historical value.
as side note 101 has been on am/pmmo for last few days

The AMMO protect crew had the 106 today.

I saw GP35 #106 at GCT the other day Saturday May 9.
