Use common sense, be discrete, and know your limits - simple as that.

I was hoping it would say something about the trespasser driving a red Dodge Ram, but eh, I guess you can't get everything you want...

Things might change a bit when the new hours of service law goes into effect in July...they can't run the same amount of trains with the same amount of guys, something has to change...while it'd hopefully mean more guys, it could go the other direction for all I know as well (running less trains). A...

Yes, the rumor that it hit a UFO and the government pulled them aside, with men in white suits bringing the locomotives and cars under big white tents and spotlights...this has been discussed elsewhere, and it's always been found to be a bunch of B.S. Here's the link: http://ufos.about.com/od/ufocra...

In terms of just flat-out good propagation, I've been able to pick up detectors 50 miles Northwest of Toronto, and trains and dispatchers at least 100+ miles in the same direction. To the East, I've heard trains calling signals as far as Utica, and to the West, I've heard trains calling all the way ...

Well, I recall recently hearing a dispatcher talking to a train specifically about setting out some ARMN cars in Rochester. And since a Rochester-based local now brings cars to the Lyons FGLK interchange instead of the trains actually working them (or so I'd believe, seeing how they've been bringing...

No dispute there. No wonder those x Seaboard and Chessie officials that went into CSX had misgivings about future EMD purchases. More like pissed off...they didn't buy another EMD till the SD70MAC! And after those "lovely" SD70ACes, I don't think they'll be touching EMD for a while again....

Sometimes I agree with their reasons for rejecting my photos, sometimes I don't. Guess what they rejected this one for? It seems like luck of the draw. Some screeners are complete Nazi's, while others only reject for something that is obviously wrong, and some put their opinion into what they rejec...

Nessman, one problem with that approach would be that the NRHS would then be taking responsibility - not in a legal sense, but by reputation - for anybody who showed up. If some moron from anywhere went to the site and created a problem, the NRHS would by association get an undeserved black eye. I ...

From what I've gathered via listening to the radio, I do believe his son is now dispatching on the NF desk (the old Buffalo Mainline territory). A lot of guys have been apologizing to the guy for the loss of his father (I can't even imagine how tough that's got to be). And before anyone says somethi...

Underexpose a stop or two from what the camera says is "correct" focus. Otherwise, the snow will just like like a pure white blob - no shadows or shades or anything.

Then don't upload to their site anymore. Problem solved.

AND I SUPPOSE THAT REMARK ISN'T AIMED AT ME? cONRIAL4EVER? hhhhmmmm. :P Yeah, that works LOL. There's a 5885 on a work train in Syracuse parked on the west end of tk 8. Problem with those engines in local service was there was too much hp for just 4 axles. You'd start pulling cuts of cars up a indu...

On a possibly related note, Q632 today had at least a dozen flatcars that compromise the bottoms of autoracks on his tail end, reporting marks TTXX. All of the ones I saw appeared to have been Grand Trunk Western autoracks previously (they left the handbrake sections intact, which featured the blue ...
