I'll walk the 3ish miles from mass ave to longwood ave and only see one outbound train pass by. What route are you taking between Mass Av and Longwood that is three-ish miles? The route I would walk is about one mile . Back on topic though, when taking the E on Huntington, I usually stand where I c...
Great pic! Are there any interior pics available online?
I heard it once and found it utterly irritating. I was trying to read a book and couldn't concentrate on what I was trying to read over the crap coming over the PA. If they want to find a way to raise revenue, they should put up some silent monitors with ads, news and with a real time arrival display.
The way I look at it, where else is the car going to go during winter? Storage? I guess if there is tunnels on this route, the icicle problem kicks in. It could be used on San Diegans, or, um... the... shoot. Maybe the Vermonter, north of New Haven or Springfield, or even the Downeaster. While the ...
A more effective demonstration project would probably be to use them for service on branch lines to connect with the Vermonter. IE, between White River Junction and St. Johnsbury or Newport, Bellows Falls and Fair Haven or Essex Junction and Charlotte or Vergennes via Burlington. That's the kind of ...

to go with the same logic as Nellie Bly, Phoenix is not a city. It is just a big suburb in the middle of a desert. Here in Philly we have things such as food, various ethnic groups, and sports teams that have been around for more than 10 years. Well, as the saying goes: There's no "there"...
I had a similar issue when I went cross-country in 2003. I was told that there were showers at Union Station until the early 90s. They were closed long ago though. I would check to see if there is a YMCA or health club nearby that offers day passes.
It is not a matter about being correct or not, I stated that one would think , not that it is policy. I rode the Orange Line two times last night after I posted that message and both trains had cars out of service. One was car 01205 and the other was 01202. It reflects very poorly on the MBTA to be ...
I saw two, possibly three Orange Line trains in the span of three hours this afternoon that had one car out of service. One on my way home, southbound from Haymarket during rush hour, the fourth car was out of service, then at about 8, while waiting for a southbound train at Mass Av, a northbound tr...
I've seen them in use in the Berlin and Munich U-Bahn and S-Bahn systems as well as the Frankfurt S-Bahn system, Deutsche Bahn Regional service DMUs and the Austrian Bundesbahn Talent DMUs that run between Lindau Germany and Bregenz, Austria. On the older Munich cars, there are regular door latches ...
MBTA.com service alerts updated A homeless man started a fire underneath the Longfellow Bridge. As a result the Boston Fire Department has stopped all traffic. Subway Red Line service is being diverted to substitute shuttle buses between Park Street and Kendall Stations. MBTA personnel are on scene...
I'm sitting in my house high atop of a hill here in Boston. Wind from the direction of Massachusetts Bay (about two miles to the east and sometimes visible in the distance) is hitting the house and shaking it. Rain is beating on my windows as well. The National Weather Service put out a warning caut...
Berlin has them too, as seen at the end of this video.
