The response to the Carle Place photo was correct. The colors tell the story, not to mention the high level platform. I find it odd, though not displeasing, that #200, first of the those delivered, survives today in operation. BRING HER HOME!

I'm not concerned with who pays for it. I am concerned about making a suggestion for outside the offices at Jamaica, and seeing if anyone bites. Whether money is in short supply or not, if the MTA likes it, it'll get paid for. Please do consider submitting a heritage locomotive scheme for the contes...

If you are into live Diesel railroading, and want to build a Century series locomotive for 1.5" scale, Odd Duck Foundry in Orrington, Maine, is casting Century noses in aluminum. These measure (approx. 13" tall by 9" wide, and about 1/4" thick. Contact ODF for pricing. Contact: h...

It was a collision safety issue. With the number of grade crossings on the LIRR, it was a prudent move to make. N&W had the same issue. By the time the GP38's were ushered in, visibility in a new cab was the issue.

These trucks may be dedicated to the Smithsonian's ALCO PA. Has anyone made an update on these?

ALCO AAR "B" truck drawings or plans?

I am in need of drawings of ALCO twin axle, standard trucks, as used on the Century series locomotives. I do not want the high-adhesion trucks. The trucks I am looking for were basically the standard for B-B locomotives from the RS-1 forward. I want to make patterns in wood, to cast 1/8th scale truc...

I have been aboard the C-Liner in the museum in Ottawa, and have taken pictures. She's in very tough shape, but totally restorable. When she was put aside, her windows went missing and she was heavily weathered. She's in old style paint, very rusted, but currently under cover and well cared for whil...

The C-Liners and H16-44's all disappeared rapidly in late 1963 and early 1964. The ALCO Century replacements were bought at the time of the NY World's Fair, and the connection of a modernized railroad was smooth. As the F-M's disappeared, some of their parts were taken and re-used in the new locomot...
