Lots of snow on the tracks and cancelled trains due to crappy roads when nobody can get to work.

ExCon90 wrote:OK--I missed the bit about WX not being in service yet. Sounds like it will all be cleared up when they get the whole system in place.
Should be up and running by the end of 2016 from what I gather.

Thanks for posting (and taking!) those. That 3rd one was the view I was hoping to see. What puzzles me now is that with a number plate on that signal there would appear to be nothing to prevent a train from accepting a Stop-and-Proceed (since the number plate makes S&P its most restrictive indi...

I'm really puzzled by the track and signal diagram posted by sullivan1985. First, it says the eastward signal at SPARROW is an automatic controlled by NYSW Cooperstown; to me that means a controlled home signal which when cleared by the dispatcher automatically displays whatever indication is consi...

Well, at least the people who live along the line won't have to fear that rumored Canadian Pacific trash trains any more should the STB follow through with the CP/NS sale of the D&H. As for the project today, it would appear that Conrail's plan to rip out the tracks worked. This project is provi...

The Hoboken Division has always been on AAR 086 - 161.400 since the Erie Lackwanna days. Hoboken Terminal used to be a part of it, but there was just too much chatter so the terminal was in recent years put on AAR 052 - 160.890.

Switches lined for the cripple track, with permission of the NYSW DS to hand throw the spring switch and the cripple switch. With a grade crossing in the middle of Sparrow,if no proceed signal at WX from NJT DS,that 3-headed Automatic stays at stop(Gates stay up to allow traffic to cross). No gates ...

Fan Railer wrote:On another note, northbound and southbound for the ACL? That can be confusing, but I presume northbound is towards Philly and southbound is towards Atlantic City?
The line has historically been a timetable North/South railroad since it's construction.

Why do you think MN is improving line if they do not have any stake in it. it sure as hell is not NJT or NS money being spend. I'm not arguing that. Metro-North is responsible for the maintenance of the railroad. I simply stated that Metro-North is a tenant on Norfolk Southern. If there is a standi...

DutchRailnut wrote:Are you on such in , that you know what MTA is doing ?? answer no.
Do they own it yet? No. Until they do they are a tenant. Option to buy or not.

Sully, that rabbit is it a battery operated mover on old alco trucks? No, competently new design. Outsiders sometimes show up in Hoboken for wheel work. NYS&W SD70 comes to mind. An RS1 a BL2 appeared at the MMC once, so I guess anything is possible. And by the way, the rabbit looks nothing lik...

Recent pictures on Flickr placed two of them in St. Louis. Supposedly going for scrap.

DutchRailnut wrote:tenant ?? leased with full option to buy, so its a little more than just a tenant.
The tenant in my condo has the option to buy, yet they haven't. Thus making them a tenant. Moving on...

Steve, are you sure they were do do any work in Passenger territory? DRN doesn't think so. It was like a year ago i had read about it. So the area could be off. But I thought i had read about sparrow having work done to it. Where is the MN/NS border up there? Well, there is no border really as the ...

Attached is a diagram showing the way this now configuration will lay.

Also find it interesting that CP SPARROW once owned the telegraph call letters of WX back in the ERIe/EL days.
