Last year the train came in around 3PM the police usually close the roads off ahead of time so the earlier you get there, the better. This is all I know as of right now.lirr415 wrote:It's coming in 2 weeks.oh wow, I almost forgot about this.
Do you know the exact date its pulling in to Garden City?

Also, when do the LIRR engines take over (the three work engines that usually pull the train out the Hempstead Branch)

And if they can do this, then why was there the long tradition of landing the train at Hunter's Point and walking th elephants thorugh the Mid-Town tunnel?Amtrak used to put a few HHP-8's on the circus train for it's trip through the tunnels and Penn Station. Back when the E60's were around, they used those. If no HHP-8's are around, they will tie on a bunch of AEM-7's.

I have seen Amtrak MP15's in Penn Station before and you would need less of them then using a bunch of AEM's.Amtrak MP15? Either way, a diesel operation is not allowed in NYP except for emergencies
