Next thing we know it'll be a BU-Harvard squabble, since doesn't the big crimson empire own Becaon Park now?

Depends on where the property line begins, I wouldn't be surpised if the MTA kept ownership of the commuter rail only tracks.

CSXConductor or anyone else who would know, feel free to add your corrections if need be...

The location of the accident is actually the property of the Mass Turnpike Authority,,not CSX.

Newburyport/Rockport Line

Outbound Newburyport train #153 (8:05 AM) has collided with a vehicle on the tracks at Dodge Street in Beverly. Another train is arriving to pick up #153's customers. Service on the line is running 30 - 40 minutes late as a result, but should be back on track by noon. We will keep you informed.

We apologize for the inconvenience.
Train 153 was involved in a bad crash.......with a truck

That must be the incident reported here:

Train slices SUV in two, driver safe

A Peabody woman cheated death yesterday when she drove into the path of a commuter train in Beverly and miraculously walked away with only minor injuries, police said.

Carol Freedman, 50, was driving the wrong way on Dodge Street when an outbound train sheared off the back end of her Acura SUV, scattering mangled car parts across the snowy tracks.

The 8:40 a.m. accident created a 90-minute delay for about 20 commuters who were forced to leave the train while T employees cleared off the tracks.

Freedman was cited by Beverly police for a marked lanes violation and failure to stop at a railroad crossing. An MBTA spokesman said railroad gates went down 46 seconds before the accident, but the gates did not stop Freedman because she was on the wrong side of the road.

A question about the above incident:

Where a one-way street crosses railroad tracks, are there really no gates or lights on the "wrong" side of the crossing? That sounds very dangerous for pedestrians.

Ok folks, it happened again today. This time at Prides Crossing in Beverly. F40PH 1003 does not appear to be injured, however, the car is in pain. no reported injuries on the train. Status of driver unknown.

BTW, what was the power on yesterday's incident, as i hear she was so badly injured, she had to be towed back to BET, as she could not go it alone.
