Transport Canada would be silly not to, but I suspect VIA will go with more conventional equipment (i.e. SC-44s and Single Level cars).

The specification is for bi-directional work and that most likely will be a loco at one end and a cab car at the other - SIemens already is designing / has designed a cab car for California.

The VIA request was for FRA compliance so the new euronorm rules aren't relevant though I suspect TC would be willing to listen if VIA wanted.

I'm with you there, but realistically, the aerodynamic nose shrouds on Brightline are all about image/marketing and have little practical value, so I doubt we'll see that replicated on VIA's fleet.

Interesting, the drawing suggests a three car train with one locomotive, which would require 95 seats per car on average to make 9100 total seating capacity for 32 train sets. A four car train train with one locomotive would require 72 seats per car on average.

I’m thinking maybe three economy coaches and one business coach per train is more likely to be pushed or pulled by one locomotive.

I would guess the trains will be of different sizes depending on where / when they work on the corridor, much like the current trains are.
