Indeed. I mentioned that some time ago. A turn track at CP223 and CP 255 would really help the cause. The birth of CP248 helped, but getting some of the shuttles off the main would really go a long way.

I really don't see the room at Pike though.

A short storage track would cause one other problem, it would cause a train to cross over at restricted speed, and so tie up 4 tracks for several minutes.
A turn on mainline lets train travel at higher speed and only ties up one track.

Well it can be the lesser of two evils ... One track tied up for 15-20 mins for the consist to turn and board-alight passengers. Or a longer 'fouling' time for a train to cross over multiple main-line tracks stinging things coming in. Even that can be mitigated with a longer siding track so speeds don't decrease to Restricted Speed across the interlocking plant & a signal progression can be spaced out onto the siding.
