Would love to see a 3D diagram under grade of midtown complete with minimum clearances for existing infrastructure. Even if a NJT or LIRR or Amtrak can't get between GCT & NYP, maybe an "A" division subway tunnel could fit? Just throwing darts... Funny how we have money for everything ...
Eliminate the transfer at trenton. On the plus side, SEPTA seems to wait for late NJT at Trenton from what co-workers have described over the years... Yes it's true that some effort has at least been made to protect these connections, and if they didn't, they'd have an empty train. $ I'm talking ab...
Saw these on the ACL a few times. They seemed neat. Sorry I won't get to see them down here anymore...
I get the alerts too, left my phone in work locker. Checking now, I see no mention of the issue that lead to the "talking with Amtrak, frustrating/sorry" alert. Simply cross honouring in effect, no reason was given why the cross honouring was implemented. One would think that email or text...
How long will pre-hike tickets be good for after the fare hike?
Eliminate the transfer at trenton. When transfer is less than 10 minutes it makes so difficult for crowds of people to buy a ticket. I wish advance tickets could be easily purchased on both systems, and not just on the Trenton platform. When transfer is 20 minutes or greater, it defeats the purpose...
I live in NJ (New Brunswick), dont have a car...Im not allowed to attend? I know SEPTA tries to make it as hard as possible for people in NJ to visit Philly, but come on! Anyone from NYC is out of luck? Yes, because a car or SEPTA/NJT are the only two ways to travel between these two points. Have y...
I keep hearing alerts being sent about alternate travel options on co-workers phones. What's going on? NJT site has no specific information readily visible...
I personally wonder if it was 638 responsible for the failure or the cab car on 645. 638 was shoving when it passed me at the airport.. Then when the train came back through Edison on its way to Metropark to discharge.. The train seemed to be making track speed. It actually blew past 176 heading th...
I hope they do strike and wreck havoc on the area. Hopefully the media blasts them (NJ Transit not the engineers) too. Then maybe someone can go after the corrupt individuals who have run NJ Transit right into the ground. Give the engineers what they want, they deserve it! It is my (lay-person's) p...
Might need a 3rd track to the west to eliminate traffic conflicts? That is not happening for a long long time. There are a few bridges that allow only for 2 tracks now (because the bridge is 2 tracks or a station is ploped right in the middle so that the existing space for another track on the brid...
we were talking about this at work tonight. In the event they strike. Anyone think NJT is going to beg Amtrak to do alot of local stops on the NEC? I mean the other lines will basically be S.O.L., unless they have management that is still qualified on those lines, right? Amtrak has scheduled stops ...
I would not use an outlet that has power coming off a DC feed via locomotive. I've used them on other transit systems, but typically I'd think the current wasn't very stable regardless...
NS is the king of light power moves. When my office was on their main in South Bend (former Conrail/NYC Chicago line), they'd send 6+ light units sailing by (could be 15, 20 some days) and a few hours later they'd sent another light move in the opposite direction. I'm not a railroader but seems a b...
