Let's take a fresh look at a station. Here's the area in Google Maps. We can't put a station right at Leman Place due to the curvature of Amtrak tracks... but if we extend the Strasburg's two tracks north-west to north of East Lincon Highway (US 30), we can do some work: Move the Paradise Township ...

Hello all, From what I gathered the following stations are planned or under construction. Windsor Locks, Coatsville, Parkesburg, Downingtown, Rhinecliff, and Charlotte. I have heard that MARC was supposed to do Aberdeen. As for Westerly and Mystic, they can be done but the stations will have to be ...

ZS: Let's see if Berks and Chester Counties go along with Montgomery County to form the new SRPRA. The key is negotiating with Norfolk Southern to operate trains between Reading and Philadelphia. If NS turns down a submitted operating plan from the new Authority there won't be any trains... MACTRAX...

Just booked for 48-14 of next month. I'll be in 4812, didn't even have to call and change.
This will be my first time on the Lake Shore, and my first time going long distance with a room. Excited to see how the IIs track.

Hello all, I had read in Amtrak accessibility reports that 24 stations were going to be converted to High Level Platforms. I believe Tampa was recently done as was Middletown, PA. I was just wondering what other stations are going to be converted? I guess Rhinecliff and the new Newport News station...

The Capitol Limited-Texas Eagle shared equipment experiment that began March 28 will end May 2. The long layover for servicing at St. Louis in both directions has been eliminated, so the trains will revert to their original schedules. Best news I have seen all day. Was the combined consist running ...

In closing there needs to be an initial effort by SEPTA to preserve the RRD system as it now stands. One of the most interesting factors I noticed was the pronounced ridership loss over the last two years since "The Problem" began - this needs to be dealt with directly to keep the RRD sys...

Forgive my ignorance, but does the Lake Shore still use VIIs? I'm booking a trip in May from Chicago to New York and I would rather be in a II if possible.

One sore point with Amtrak is not when I am riding Amtrak, but when I am riding other services using Amtrak tracks. There is a lot of complaining about how the freight railroads treat Amtrak, but it does the same things to SEPTA, NJ Transit, MARC, etc... Things have improved in the last two years (...

It's just "Wawa" again. Cooler heads prevailed.
July 1 is the target date.

The ALC-42 is supposedly coming east on the Capital Limited. I might try to catch it coming though Point of Rocks. Anyone know what time it would be coming though? Early tomorrow morning prehaps? Capit o l Limited . It’s for the building, not the place. I believe all ALCs will be delivered to DC on...
