The Vaporware of M-7 DMU’s strikes again!

Ron has hit it on the head, as Stadler is the game in town for DMU and other planned self propelled systems. Plug and play as long you can “Show me the money.”

The slowness refers to computer restricted loading pattern of the diesel at no/slow speeds to achieve the emissions standards.

Nice to see * is getting a good home for the car. Would be a beautiful addition for Christmas volumes, especially it the URHS cars don’t come back in a future year.

And my question about which 8 units are going to be converted into the 975x series still stands. It’s only been in the Bulletin Orders since 6/5.

Does anyone know what motors have changed numbers as of yet to become 9750 to 9757? ULMER has not yet been updated for the changes.

Based on this DVRPC report , the entire Railroad side has 46,373 miles as MDBF for Fiscal Year 2020. No breakdown from different types of EMU’s or Loco hauled consists. The Silverliner V’s we’re also purchased with some FTA Grant money, meaning they can’t be sold or disposed of until they are fully ...

Per Ulmer, it is still BAYL 3019

Also from above:
BERX 4001 - NS 8750
BERX 4002 - NS 8751
BERX 4003 - NS 8759
BERX 4004 - NS 8760

Which is a major reason why the advocacy groups suggest going to I-78 Exit 7 since the line is severed west of there and would require a much larger sum of money to build and not convenient to any large passenger groups versus a park and ride station at Exit 7 NJ Transit doesn't really seem to be b...

CSX wanted to be ‘masters of their own domain’ on the Trenton Sub between Woodbourne and West Trenton. The single track railroad in that area reduced capacity, but was better than dealing with passenger traffic on SEPTA’s double track main.

It's more than blessing the track with visual, and Sperry + Geometry inspections, and proving out the signal system. The PTC component needs to be fully tested and pass through RSD testing phase as well. With PTC being the new normal, it takes a while to prove it's working as intended.

scratchyX1 wrote: Sun Aug 20, 2023 7:23 pm So, the APVs are basically B units? For brake tests , etc, would they count as locomotives?
Yes, anything that directly deals with making a train go is treated as a locomotive. Cab Cars, slugs, B units, and this APU will all fall under those locomotive inspection requirements and frequency.
