Speaking as someone who carries an FRA license, there's a whole lot more i's to dot and t's to cross when running a railroad operation than there is transit. SEPTA wouldn't have been able to get away with being as lax as they have been with safety for as long as they have on the railroad side as the...
It was a shop car that was getting moved around Elmwood. No power and no brakes, rolled right out of the yard and down Island Rd.
Is there any unused light rail routes that the Kawasaki cars be assigned when these new cars enter service on the present routes?. Recognize that the overhead CAT and feeders might need replacing? Been too long since was in PHL. Their lack of ADA accessibility makes them unusable on any other route...
Alstom was rewarded the contract to build 130 new LRVs with an option for 30 more.

Their current plan only includes the 7 trolley routes (10,11,13,34,36,101,102).Their plan includes the 15. Read the Trolley Modernization PDF. The 15 is included in all of the plans.
None of them ever ran in revenue service on those lines (save for a few cameos on the 15). Any pictures you encounter of them on the North Philly lines were on fantrips.

Sounds like a lot of hand wringing over nothing. There's plenty of examples around this very system of high level platform stations replacing legacy station infrastructure that has historical elements to it without disturbing them. Ft Washington is a prime example. The original station building is s...

Silverliner5 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 23, 2022 2:25 am For $770 Million how many LRVs can SEPTA get for that price?I think they're shooting for 80 cars
Temporary bridge over the Airport line. The bridge Elmwood used was being replaced at the time.
I would think the Elwyn line would need a new schedule with Wawa/Middletown opening in July.

Thanks, but while what you said about the Transflo moving to Eastside Yard, one thing that doesn't make sense is there has been a Transflo at Eastside yard since 2007 (if not before - Google street view), and the Philadelphia Energy Refinery site is only now being torn down (sorry, remediated)...so...
