In light of all of the new motive power Metra seems to be acquiring, are 611 & 614 still supposed to be rebuilt? I haven't heard anything on that front in some time (though I haven't been following it all that closely, truth be told).

Accuracy of old C&NW Heavyweights by Con-Cor?

I've recently acquired a set of N Scale 6-axle Heavyweight cars in C&NW Green/Yellow . They are apparently a 30-year-old set produced by Con-Cor, and I'm not sure if they represent a true prototype or if they're a complete fabrication. Would any of these cars be a reasonable stand-in for somethi...

I apologize for bumping an old discussion, but just to set the record in case anybody stumbles upon it (as I did)... What I never understood is why the P&W bought the least-suited equipment for the railroad. It is to my understanding Electroliner sets were selected by the P&W because of the ...

C&NW/UP and Metra

Why did the Chicago & Northwestern continue to operate their commuter trains into the RTA era? It is my understanding that, to this day, Metra trains on the 3 ex-C&NW lines are still crewed and run by Union Pacific, with only the equipment coming from Metra itself. If I'm not mistaken, the B...

Were any lines abandoned after the Chicago, North Shore & Milwaukee in 1963?
I can't think of any others that outlived the "North Shore Line" and aren't still around in some form today (e.g. the "South Shore", the P&W, etc.)

Are there any Soo/CP locomotives in the patched Milwaukee Road scheme anymore?

It appears that Private Car 555 (Formerly C&NW 555/7902) ended up on static display at a pumpkin farm in Homer Glen, IL, adorned in Rock Island paint.

Re: Metra F40C 611/614 Status

Are there any specific trains that 611 and 614 run on? I'm going to try and get out to the MILW-North line during the week to grab video/pics of them running. Like an idiot, I've been aware of them running for the last 3 years but done nothing about it, even though I was furious the previous 4 years...
