Metra F40PH Rebuild Program

Interesting project listed in the 2011 prop. budget;

PE 4507 LOCOMOTIVE REHABILITATION, MET
This project funds the second mid-life rehabilitation of
14 locomotives which were delivered between 1989 and
1992. This rehabilitation is required to ensure continued
reliable service. This project is part of an ongoing
program to rehabilitate locomotives.

The only units to fit this description would be 171-184, which were the last F40PH-2's to be delivered and were not rebuilt in-house such as some of the 150's-60's.

F40PH-3 no. 114 was delivered to the BNSF coach yard in Chicago today.

112 was leading MP36PH-3S 404 on BNSF's double header this evening.

113 is the first rebuild to go to UP, said to be on UP-W train #41 this evening.

I finally had the time to update the rebuild status page. At this point, everything up to 147 has been rebuilt, or is out for rebuild. This is where things become an 'unknown'. Starting with 148, many -2's were rebuilt in-house at 47th Street in the early 2000's. More than likely the rebuilding will continue with 174-184... as Metra has stated 14 units will be rebuilt in 2012 and this is all that is left.

I know this is the F40PH rebuliding thread but I read in the 611/614 thread that they recieved funding to rebuild 611/614 is this true? Will you be adding them to the this thread? Is it possible to rename the thread to Metra Rebuild Program to encompass all the rebuilding going on?

611/614 have recieved funding for some form of rebuild... When it happens,they will be added. As for other rebuilds, it would be difficult to get the dates of the rebuilds.. but I could add which 8400's have been rehabbed.
