Speaking of X472, here’s the off-season weekend rotation:
Shuttle set 1:
4708/X471/4716/4721/4732/4737/4748/4753/4760/4765/4772/4777

Shuttle set 2:
4724/4729/4740/4745/4756/4761/4768/4773/4780/X472/4705

2303 was cancelled today. Expect an oddball shuttle consist.

Last night, the 4-car set with 4503 had TWO cab cars.

Before you start yelling that two cab cars can't be used in one consist, the second cab car was pointing the same direction as the lead cab car, and was right behind the loco.

So now it looks like we have two rather interesting sets on the shuttles:
4503 with the two Comet V cab cars and 4529 with a 4 car Multilevel set...

Someone I work with and knows I'm into railroads, commented that he saw a long train near Belmar and he counted fifteen or sixteen green lights on the sides of the cars as it passed.

As many of you probably know (there is a separate thread about this), but NJT plans to lease 20 cars from MARC. Hopefully they make their way down the NJCL. I feel like they could use them on either 3363 or 3373, since both of those trains really don’t need cab cars. If the MARC cab cars can’t lead, those two trains are basically the only ones they can go on...

The MARC Cab cars should be able to lead on NJT and on the NEC,their onboard cab signals and ACSES should work.
LIRR ASC is a somewhat different setup.

What's on the shuttles? Heading down to Long Branch today.

2303 ran diesel all the way from Hoboken. 4503 on point.

4002 was on the shuttles today. That replaced 4529 last night. It’s also worth nothing that the 4002 is 4 cars, with three of them being cab cars.

MM-08 was spotted last night en route to Bay Head with the two F40s. They only had one coach with them...

They were recently spotted at Newark Penn today at noon pulling an RVL set with a PL42 trailing.

Sounds like a PL42 is in the rotation for the shuttle and an ALP is going to 2312.

Apologies if I am misunderstanding, but do you mean that the F40s were both hooked up to a revenue train? If so, wouldn't this be the first time they've been used in revenue service in a few years?? Thanks.
