Now let's see what else the Engineers get.

They were not part of the coalition, and will negotiate a slightly better deal than those who were released to strike.

Since the UTU bought a manning agreement for their Conductors last year by agreeing to "pay for benefits", the Engineers and those others not in the coalition will probably not have to pay for benefits when they settle.

How will future employees (once hired) feel about taking longer to reach max pay? Can you imagine two track workers: one veteran and a new employee and how that conversation may turn out. It is pretty sad to have management call the employees greedy, etc. when they been working four years without a contract meanwhile they are suppose to do more with less. In addition they wanted to freeze any pay increases? So while everything goes up their wages were to stay the same.

We will see how this plays out going forward. And when this contract expires, hopefully the MTA union leaders will begin talks before the contract expires.

The contract expires in 2 1/2 years. They'd have to start now.

Next up is LIRR BLE and Metro North. It may take this long to get one.

Is the contract retroactive?

No surprise here -- Three men in a room come to a agreement that they determine is fair

And once again the Governor comes out looking like a hero! Big photo op when they agree to sign the papers. What a load of BS.
