0240-0450/02-02-2022 started off with 0241 Dispatcher-side hash, a too-frequent occurrence, so only the partials and completes will get posted. 0249 was when the P&W Dispatcher used their yard channel to hedzup WX-3 that Q426 would be looking to bring in *13 or 30* cars. To save suspense, naught further would be heard to, from, or about 426.
At 0310, there was a D-3 partial to AY-3 about their runaround and WL, and at 0314, the 333 WLs were dark. At 0312 and on the way over to 334 -- the ELs at Stop and 1 WB stagger dark -- a D-2 partial to LA-2 contained something about something that D-3 had just told him. The 335s were dark, and at 0319, D-2 told NA-2 that he'd get a cab going.
An OT hedzup -- there was unplowed accumulation on the iced ruts on Development Road by 334, so I'd avoid that stretch, especially when there's likely to be opposing traffic.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were at Stop. There was an EB marker on 1 at about the midpoint of the Pratt yard on toppa general that extended down to the old platform where dark NSs 7561 and 9978 sat. It was too dark to see the silhouettes of a possible antenna array on the cab roof, so dunno if the leader was a PTC unit. There were racks on the Extension and whatever else west and other yard occupants. From west of West Switch and beyond the Timpany Boulevard UGB, there was more general, any view of a possible marker blocked by plow berms.
The general was also visible at LaChance Furniture and the Wilkins Road dogleg, but except for the Stop on the 346 WL at 0346, there was naught visible to the east, so coulda been either WB paperwork in progress or a PW setoff. If a setoff, my condolences to those who will reshuffle that deck. At 0345, there had been a D-3 241 to AY-3 with the 7585 for the 1 at WL E to the FM 1.
On the EB leg of the trip and at 0357, there was another 241, a D-2 partial to POAY with the7809 for Meadowcroft Street with the request to -- once they were clear of the signal -- restore things to power. There would be a number of other partials involving POAY, but it did seem like at least some Hill Yard activity had been set back.
At 0357, there was another and brief D-2 partial, followed immediately by a D-3 reachout to AY-4, followed by near term silence cuzza my decreasing elevation and Mount Wachusett getting in the way.
The 333 WLs were dark at 0403, and the EB staggers for 330 would both be at Approach. Everything from the 330.8 EBs up to and including the FG WLs would be dark, and at 0416, dark and E-facing NewBlue 5958 sat on East Side on the W end of covered hoppers.
0422 was when D-3 gave AY-4 with the 7535 permission to proceed W to CPF Camp and also when the EB staggers for Derby showed a Stop for 1 and an Approach for 2. In case there might be a WB, a left was taken on Lawrence Road, but both WBs were at Stop, so dunno.
Commo continued fractured until 0449 when D-3 called out to AY-4 with a question about how long the rundown took before they could throw the switch. There was a hashed response, but no repeat or acknowledgment got to me.
Please, CSXT, bring better communications!

0240-0436/02-04-2022's post will start at the end, cuz that's when Q426 as pre-Q427 started doing their air. Except for 2320/02-03 X7.8 crossing noise, there had been naught else heard from Q426 or POAY/AYPO, for that matter.
Going back to the start, 0240 P&W Dispatcher and 0243 P&W Yard had been the only early proofs of scanner function until 0302 D-3 garble to AY-3, quickly followed by a number of FI-2/FI-2 partials on Channel 1. More to and from AY-3 and FI-2 will follow.
At 0314, the 333 WLs were dark, followed by Stops on the 334 ELs and darkness on the 1 WB stagger and the 335s, all to naught exiting the scanners speaker.
Up Da Hill the 345s were dark. 2 in the yard had E-W a bulkhead of structural steel, a corrosive tank, a table with Clean Harbors containes,r a covered hopper, 3 loaded racks. 4 was pretty much FP-FP with a mix of general and racks. At 0339, D-3 OKd AY-3 on signal indication. Oh -- the Jade lot had a fellow optimist.
The EB trip featured more radio silence, and at 0351, the 333 WLs were dark. Further east, the EB staggers for 330 showed a Medium Approach for 1 and an Approach for 2. All else up to and including the FG WLs would be dark.
Boston West had let me know the scanner was still working at 0357, and 0400 was when FI-2 gave me audio proof they were nearby. 0403 was when a numbers-obscured NewBlue -- possibly still the 5958 -- was E of the FG ELs and doing a gentle shove of covered hoppers on East Side. 6 later, the EB staggers for Derby showed an Approach for 1 and Clear for 2.
At 0430, D-3 241d AY-3 with the 7489 1 E to 1 at CPF AY, and 2 later -- with Mount Wachusett now in a position to be irksome -- would garble something to FI-2 about Keolis, 400 soon to be on scene. A couple later and with Mount Wachusett now outta the way, D-3 gave AY-3 permission to reverse direction from where they stood and proceed W to CPF AY.
The rest has already been read.
Thanks to all those involved for delaying the ice-up until after the really unimportant stuff got done.

0240-0445/02-07-2022 had its moments, significantly improved receptions not among them. At 0243, a breaking D-3 called out to ED-8 with an OK to continue E. Dunno where they were, but ED-8 was within garble range. There were yarding instructions -- also broken -- with something about trash, racks going to Graniteville, and even something about intermodal. Dunno if the yard IM tracks were involved and/or pigs.
Things then went into Quiet Mode until 0259 Yard Channel hash and then Yard Channel garble that was an ED-8/POAY convo involving POAY getting pulling again as soon as the "they" got a crossover fixed. As will be seen, a track-trouble theme would emerge.
At 0314, the 333 WLs were dark. The 334 ELs would be at Stop and the the 1 WB stagger dark. On the way over to the also-dark 335s, there was a broken D-3/ED-8 exchange.
Up Da Hill, the 345 ELs were at Stop and the the 1 WL at Clear. On the the 2 from the computer company to the W end of the Timpany Boulevard UGB were racks, and 4 in the yard looked like a dupe of 2 in the yard on 02-04. At 0333, D-3 had garbled something to AY-3 that involved a runaround, Keolis, Fitchburg, switches, nobody else in the area, and a cab being called for 0530. More will follow.
EB and a bit after 0340, D-2 -- yes, two -- reached out to AY-5 with the 7609 with a broken 241 for the Northern Main, so guessing CPF NC was involved.
At 0350 the 333 WLs were dark, and during a spell of ongoing non-reception, the EB staggers for 330 would be at Approach. Post refueling stop, the 330.8 WBs were dark, as would be the 330 WLs and ELs and the GL WLs. Just E of the 330.8 WBs, there was a garbled 241 that involved the Northern Main again. Dunno if for AY-5 or mebbe NA-2.
There had been other garble with a clear "AY-4," and the FG WLs were at Stop with naught visible E or W for shunting possibilities. Dunno if D-3's 0333 to AY-3 might offer an explanation.
At 0413, NewBlue 5958, was dark, solo and W-facing in the FI-1/2 parking spot. From 0415 and on, D-3 would reach out a number of times to AY-3.In between times, there would be AY-4 activity, and at 0419 and besides a covered hopper on the E end of the RVJ stub, the EB staggers for Derby would show a Clear for 1 and Approach for 2. Dunno if there mebbe might be a short 22K holding E or if the possible route for 400 being 1 was cuzza the crossover issues mentioned in the 0309 ED-8/POAY exchange.
In a bit came the drop of yet another shoe. The D-3 side of things to AY-3 was that Track had been called, but he wasn't sure when they'd be there, so shove back to 312 and then tie down on 2 at Wagon Wheel, 0434 being a 241 to AY-3 with the 7489 for the Single W to 2 at CPF 312. Dunno if the issue was the Milling or WL.
The rest of the trip would feature a few spurts of hash. Q426/7? Dunno.

0240-0440/02-09-2020 started off a minute later with D-3 reaching out to FI-2, asking what their leader was, and then issuing a broken-to-me 241 to mebbe the 7658 for 2 W to 2 somewhere. Guessing Fi-2's crew had been repurposed for racks and/or trash around the Willows.
Things were quiet company-wise until 0310 when ED-9 with the 6951 would initiate a soon-to-be-both-sides garbled convo with D-3. It sounded like there was an update plus something else that caused D-3 to say he'd let Power Control know and then ask if they were ready to go otherwise. The garble now got serious for what coulda been either permission or a 241 for 2 W to 1 at mebbe FG.
At 0312, the 333 WLs were dark, and in another few, there was a spell of Road-side-only garble. The 334 ELs were at Stop and the 1 WB and 335s dark.
The way WB up Da Hill was quiet except for a coupla public safety encroachments. The 345s were dark and the yard crammed. From the Extension W, there were hoppers, a pair of MT centerbeams, covered hoppers, a number of TBOXes, followed from Royal Steam Heater on by what looked what had been to the south on 02-07. The 2 and 4 had a mix of racks and general, status not determinable. Guessing mebbe ED-9 mebbe might lift at least the 1 and Extension, but naught further could be heard to, from, or about ED-9.
Things remained quiet EB until 0342 and more Road-side-only garble. At 0348, the 333 WLs were dark, suggesting ED-9 was already W, a guess supported by some of signals to the E -- the EB staggers for 330 were at Approach and the 330 WLs and ELs and the GL WLs all at Stop, no marker visible to the E.
The FG WLs were at Stop, dark NSs 6945, 9497, and 4329 with a shortish 22K sitting on 2 just W of the Credit Union. At 0409, KCIR 59?? sat dark and W-facing on the W end of covered hoppers, supporting the earlier guess that FI-2's crew had been given other things to do. 6 later, the EB staggers for Derby were at Approach, a covered hopper still on the E end of the RVJ stub.
At 0419, D-3 would give POAY a broken 241 for the S W to 1 at CPF 312. My position would change enough so that the yarding instructions were clearer -- down IM 3 and leave the Ayer freight and IMs there and pick up from Track 10. There was no mention of Q426/7, neither had there been nor would there be.
Only brief hash -- mostly noncompany -- would fill out the balance of the trip.

0240-0435/02-11-2022 was a period of a surfeit of garble, both on Channels 1 and 2, so to save your eyes and my fingers, those events will go unnoted.
At 0303, D-3 asked FI-2 if they were looking for West Side, FI-2 responding East Side. More will follow.
At 0312, the 333 WLs were Dark, the 334 ELs at Stop, the 1 WB stagger and 335s dark at the usual intervals.
At 0325, D-3 answered Q426, an apt match for the X7.8 crossing noise I'd heard at 0140, Giving the direction I was going, Mount Wachusett became a factor, so the rest of the convo was lost. Naught IDable would be heard to, from, or about 426, POAY/AYPO, or anybody else for that matter.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were dark, dark NSs 6983, 9422, and 9820 plus KCIR 7535 sitting on the 2 by the MART garage and followed by general that included DS trashes, so guessing an ED-8 or FI-3. The gaps showed general on 2 in the yard with racks on 4. Coulda also been some on the 1 blocked from view.
At 0345, the 333 WLs were dark. Further east, the EB staggers for 330 both showed Approach, the 330.8 WBs and 330 WLs and ELs dark. The GL WLs had also been dark, but went to Stop at 0355. The FG WLs would also be at Stop, and at 0403, KCIR 5933 was dark, solo, and W-facing in the East Side parking spot. Dunno where they'd been an hour earlier for FG burndown to still be going on, but it musta been well W.
At 0409, the EB staggers for Derby were dark a solo covered hopper on the RVJ stub. The rest of the trip continued to feature garble, some company, some not.

0240-0445/02-15-2022 started at the start with garble containing "Q426," more about whom later. 2 later, there would be D-3 breakage to ED-8, more also about whom later. A period of extended radio silence would then begin, past the 0312 darkness of the 333 WLs and Stops of the 334 ELs and darkness on the 1 WB stagger up to 0318 Road-side hash. The 335s would also be dark. 0322 would offer a broken D-2 241 for the Single W to the Single at CPF 303, not for POAY/AYPO as will be seen.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were dark. 4 in the yard was pretty much FP-FP, mostly covered hoppers, but with a company gon, a coil car, a box, a single loaded rack, a pair of unplacarded tanks, and a wrapped centerbeam to break things up. The E end of 2 had a trio of wrapped centerbeams. Guessing all left by the aforementioned ED-8.
EB and at 0338 and 0339 VRS and NECR were kind enough to offer evidence the scanner was still working. 0343 was when the 333 WLs were dark, and 4 later, Boston West did his bit to prove again the scanner was working.
The EB staggers for 330 were both at Approach, and the 330.8 WBs and 330 WLs and ELs dark. The GL WLs, however, were at Stop, as would be the FG WLs. 0403 was when E-facing NewBlue 5958 was sitting dark and solo up against some shorties on East Side, so mebbe the Stops to the west had been the result of FI-2 putting themselves away on signal indication.
There had been 0359 and 0402 garble, the latter including D-3 OKing ED-8 on signal indication, more garble following.
Post refueling stop, there was 0411 D-3 to ED-8 garble that included POAY and Q426 being in the yard, trashes going to Track 4, and hoonose what else.
At 0415, the EB staggers for Derby were dark, and a single covered hopper sat on the E end of the RVJ stub. Things had been quiet earlier, but the Yard Channel was now a garblefest. 1 thing that stood out was that a grab bar was standing out somewhere it didn't belong and might be a fouling hazard.
The garble would continue until 0432 when a totally clear D-3 called out to Q427 with CSXT 3401 asking if they were at MP X25. Next would come time-effective 0433 Form D G301 for X25 to Burncoat. The train info was requested and -- without repetition -- acknowledged. Never heard an acknowledgment of time into DCS. in another couple, D-3 would advise ED-8 with NS 6959 that 427 was leaving, so IM1 would be clear and they were OK on signal indication. Guessing ED-8 mighta been at the Willows.
The remaining few would serve sparse hash.

0240-0449/02-16-2022 started off quiet, only P&W and NECR providing any proof of scanner function. 0305 would be when Boston West would offer more proof, but at 0308, FI-3 with NS 6953 would reach out to D-3 with a request to reverse direction from where they stood, D-3 doing that for E on the #2 from Fitchburg to Derby, then advising them that CPF Derby was OOS and that they would have to line their own route. Dunno if this was separate from or related to the 02-14-02-18 Wachusett-Littleton bustitution for PTC work. Never heard a 241, but many are the ZombieZones. (Note to self -- Check the T Service Alerts more frequently.)
Immediately after that, FI-2 originated a convo with D-3. Both sides were breaking but it seemed like racks were under discussion. More concerning FI-2 will follow.
Radio silence would now go into effect, and at 0312, the 333 WLa were dark, the expectable sequence of Stops for the 334 ELs and darkness for the 1 WB stagger and 335s following.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were at Stop, the yard filled. The Extension and 1 had general, 2 had loaded racks east and general west, and 4 had general west and racks east. Loads or MTs? Couldn't tell.
At both LaChance Furniture and the Wilkins Road dogleg, there were racks on 2, and at 0340, the 346 WL was at Stop and an illegible GE leader to the E.
On the EB leg of the trip and at 0348, D-3 reached out to Q427 and asked if CSXT 3331 was E of MP X25. The response led to Form D G302 to CSXT 741 a Line 2 for MPX25 to Burncoat, time effective 0351. As noted in the 02-15 posting, there was no fulfillment of the EB Form D. As happened -- but w/o being noted -- the Line 2 was specified as a Line 2 West when acknowledging the readback. There was also no request for a time into DCS. Haven't ever heard a CSXT Form D or read a CSXT Rule Book, so dunno their practice, but mebbe PAR practice is being brought into line with that of the probable new owner. There would be 0546 and 0556 crossing noise for X7.8 and X6.0.
At 0354, there was a both-sides-garbled FI-2/D-3 exchange, and 2 later, the 333 WLs were dark. Further E, the EB staggers for 330 showed an Approach for 1 and Stop for 2. Just E of the westerly River Street B was s standing marker on racks, those changing to tables and wells around the Rollstone Street OHB. The 330 WLs and ELs and GL WLs were all at Stop, dark NSs 6963, 9620, and 9422 across from the platform. Mebbe a 22K.
The FG WLs were at Stop, and making it seem like I was having a 02-15 flashback on 0413/02-16, NewBlue 5958 sat dark and E-facing on East Side by shortie covered hoppers.
At 0417, there was some D-2 breakage hedzupping somebody about POED coming and Meadowcroft Street, and 2 later the EB staggers for Derby were dark, a single covered hopper still on the RVJ stub.
Things were quiet until 0428 with Dispatcher-side breakage hedzupping somebody that a freight was coming towards them but it was only 5 cars. Guessing from the voice D-2.
Quiet resumed until 0442 Yard Channel hash, then 2 later, D-3 raised AY-3, asking if the switch -- unspecified -- was still open, rogering the response. Then D-3 would talk to FI-2, both sides going into hash mode. In a few, FI-2 would start getting clearer, both sides of their car countdown being clear up to the 0449 "Far enough, FI-2." Such clarity on Yard Channel could only get to me from the W end of Hill Yard, so I'm guessing that the 5958 was having a snooze while the FI-2 crew had been repurposed to an AY-4 or AY-5.

0240/0435/02-18-2022 started off at the start with "POAY, release the brakes" and then hash. POAY and hash would be heard frequently, but naught IDable to, from, or about Q426/7.
After some more hash, TC T954 reached out to D-3 and got at tine-effective 0300 Form D G302 2nd Additional Line 2 for 1 E at FG to Derby. A 241 for 1 E to 1 at FG followed quickly.
At 0312, the 333 WLs were dark, Stops on the 334 ELs and darkness on the 1 WB stagger and 335s to follow, as would radio silence.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were dark. MT racks sat on the Extension and 1 west to Royal Steam Heater, More racks sat on 2, status not determined cuzza limited view through the gaps. There were 2 high-side gons way W on toppa racks, but couldn't tell for sure if they were on 2 or 4 cuzza things being in drivethru carwash mode.
EB, at 0339, D-3 gave a broken-to-me 241 to FI-2; A 3rd Additional Line 2 would go to TC T954 for 1 E from Derby to Camp, time effective blocked by Mount Wachusett. A 241 for 1 E to ! at Derby would follow at 0344, and then would come a btoken permission to reverse direction, possibly for FI-2, given later events.
At 0348, the 333 EB staggers were dark, and further E, the EB staggers for 330 would show Approaches. The 330 WLs and ELs were dark, but the GL and FG WLs would be at Stop, a pattern lately. At 0355, there would be a partial-to-me 241 for FI-2 at Camp, but hadda be for 2, given that TC T954 would be on 1, and 2 later, POAY would be told things were all lined.
At 0403, the FI-1/2 parking spot was understandably MT, and 5 later, the EB staggers for Derby were dark, a single covered hopper still on the RVJ stub.
0417 would be the time effective for Form D G303 to TC T 954 for 1 E at Camp to WL. No trains or TCs were ahead, and the Line 3 allowed passing the Stop signal at Camp. Things went quiet for me until D-3 answered AY-3, rogered whatever they said, and then added 0530 for the Pine Tree.
At 0427, a both-sides-audible FI-2/D-3 convo started. FI-2 was at Derby and wondering if they could go Track 2 to 1. The semi-remarkable thing was that I was sitting at a traffic light in West Boylston, but clearly heard FI-2 at Derby. At 0432, D-3 would answer the now-out-of-range FI-2 and give the 5972 a 2 W to 1 241 at CPF-Derby.
0430 had been when D-3 acknowledged TC T 954 E and clear of CPF-AY and gave a 241 for 1 E to 1 at WL, and 0435 would be when D-3 fulfilled G303, also saying that G302 had been fulfilled when TC T 954 called E and clear earlier.
Dunno about anybody else.

0240-0445/02-21-2022 was not a holiday for some, despite what the calendar might say about Presidents Day.
Things were quiet until 0254 Road-side hash, followed at 0304 when ED-8 with NS 6945 called out to D-3. They were asking about wyeing at NC, D-3 advising that there were code problems there, so they should wye at Ayer. Some D-3 garble involving FI-2 would come next, followed by ED-8 partials about going Moores to East Wye. That would now include inside-the-cab beeping, then garble, and then a D-3 roger. ED-8 would advise that they were being told there was a Stop signal, but there was none, D-3 advising them to flip the breakers. At 0309, ED-8 would say that they were on their way. As possible background for these and later developments, Wachusett-Littleton bustitution is to continue for PTC work until 02-27 per the 02-21 T Service Alert.
At 0312, the 333 WLs were at Stop, naught visible before either the E or W curves. Over at the 334s, all signals were at Stop and MT racks sat both W and a bit E. The 335s were also all at Stop, and dark NS 6952 and 2 illegible stablemates were by the 335 MP/EL. The decrew would be "relatively" recent, given the wet tire tracks leading outta the 335 lot. At 0324, a breaking ED-8 reached out to D-3, me being in the wrong place to hear any response.
At 0329, an initially-breaking D-3 said something to ED-8 about a Stop signal and then said to cut out the cab signals. 3 later, D-3 would roger whatever ED-8 had just said and then said to cut out the PTC and cut the cab signals back in, answering ED-8 4 later and rogering whatever they'd said.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were dark and the yard pretty well filled. The Extension and 1 had MT racks on the east until about the ambulance company and then general that included MT centerbeams west to a bit short of the FP. 2 had rack loads on the east that changed into general including a wrapped center beam. Guessing an ED-8 drop. There was general on 4 up by the W FP. Dunno about E. At 0338, D-3 answered Q426 and rogered whatever they'd said. That was the last heard to, from, or about 426/7, the 1st being 0140 and 0151 crossing noises for X6.0 and X7.8. If AYPO was out and about, those words never got to me.
At 0351, the 333 WLs were still at Stop, and 3 later, there was a broken convo, mebbe or not ED-8.
Further E, the EB staggers for 330 were at Approach and the 330 WLs and ELs dark. As now seems to be pattern, the GL WLs and FG WLs were at Stop with no visible shunting candidates, and at 0404, the FI-1/2 parking spot was MT.
Post refueling stop, and at 0414, there was ED-8 garble and a D-3 OK to ED-8 down the East Wye. 1 later, the RVJ lot was active, but a single covered hopper was still on the stub, and the EB staggers for Derby seemed dark from Nashua Street.
There would be a few short spurts of Yard Channel hash, and at 0428, D-3 would answer FI-2 and give the 5972 permission to reverse direction from where they stood and proceed W to CPF AY. There was more that included something about a cab, but it was garbled. Sounds like more subbing for or supplementing an AY local.
Just towards the end, there was more garble that included "It's working now." Mebbe ED-8 caught a break, but another minute's listening revealed naught more.

0240-0430/02-23-2022 was initially sparse on company audio input. The 333 WLs were dark at 0312, the usual pattern of Stops for the 334 ELs and darkness for the 1 WB stagger and 335s to follow. It wasn't until most of the way WB up Da Hill at 0323 that there was a company reception, D-3 OKing ED-8 on signal indication to start their setoff. The lack of even hash from ED-8 was taken as a hint that they might be up around WL or 312.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were at Stop, markerless general on the 2 from the computer company to however far W of the Timpany Boulevard UGB. There were MT racks on the Extension and 1 west. 2 -- at least what was visible of it through the gaps -- looked MT, and 4 had general and hoonose what else.
Radio silence remained in vogue, and at 0341, the 333 WLs were dark and, further east, the EB staggers for 330 were at Approach. The 330 WLs and ELs were dark, the GL WLs at Stop, but in a break from recent pattern, the FG WLs dark.
At 0355, dark, solo, and W-facing KCIR 5972 sat parked, the same moment that D-3 told Q427 to standby a moment.
0401 was when the EB staggers for Derby were dark, a single covered hopper still on the E end of the stub.
Moments after that a breaking D-3 reached out to Q427, inquired if they were E and clear on MP X25, and then fulfilled Form G G328 at 0403, advising another moment's standby for the new Form D. There would be a few spurts of Yard Channel hash, but then D-3 would issue time-effective 0406 Form D G301 to CSXT 3304 for MP X25 to Burncoat. Mount Wachusett played prankster for the next couple, but the length of 4785' would get repeated.
Things reverted to spurts of Yard Channel hash until 0423 when a breaking D-3 asked ED-8 if they were ready to head down to *someplace hashed.* D-3 breakage continued 2 later with his side of a brief exchange with AY-3.
The last few bits on the Yard Channel were relatively clear AYPO car countdowns that concluded with a 0430 "far enough."

0240-0430/03-01-2022 wasn't a long trip, but it did feature some unusual receptions, starting at 0242 when D-3 reached out to 11R. Hash followed, so dunno.
Intermittent Yard Channel hash would start up an occasionally clear just enough to hear not car countdowns, but bucket countdowns. POAY was still E, so it wasn't them, D-? breakingly reaching out to them at 0300.
0319 was when the 333 WLs were dark and also when D-3 OKed FI-2 on signal indication somewhere to the E, more to follow. FI-2 would start car countdowns on Yard Channel, an ongoing occurrence, and the 334 WLs would be at Stop and the 1 WB stagger and 335s dark.
A few more FI-2 countdowns would provide the WB soundtrack up to the darks 345s. From the E FP, 4 in the yard had a pair of unplacarded tanks, 1 wrapped centerbeam, another pair of loaded scrap gons, and intermingled covered hoppers W to Royal Steam Heater.
On the EB leg of the trip, D-3 called out to Q426, saying he was checking in and asking something broken about a DPU and then asking if the 3207 was the leader. I'd heard crossing noise for X6.0 and X7.8 at 0211 and 0222, so 426 wasn't at Barbers. To not save, but add to puzzlement, naught further would be heard to, from, or about Q426. At 0342, a more garbled D-3 -- Mount Wachusett again -- would reach out to ED-8 with no immediate further developments. 2 later, conditions would be favorable for a resumption of FI-2 receptions, this a request to drop the 3. 1 later, the 333 WLs were dark.
EB, the garble -- some IDable as FI-2 -- continued. The EB staggers for 330 were at Approach, the 330.8 and 330 WLs and Els dark, and the GL Was at Stop. The FG Was were dark, and at 0358, the FI-1/2 parking spot was MT.
At 0408, the EB staggers for Derby were dark, a solo covered hopper on the E end of the RVJ stub. There would be a broken permission to reverse direction at CPF AY for FI-2, and at 0415, FI-2 would announce that the switch at Moores was lined and locked normal.
At 0417, D-3 reached out to ED-8 again, any further developments blocked both by Mount Wachusett and FI-2's countdowns and their calling of a Restricting for the #1 at CPF AY. That would be followed by a now-unobstructed D-3 reaching out to AY-3 with the 7541, advising that POAY would coming up to the Willows. That convo would be overridden on my scanner by FI-2 countdowns. D-3 next advised AY-3 that POAY would be there about 0500 and that he'd get a cab going.
At 0426, AY-4 reached out to D-3 on Channel 1, advising they had moves to make, D-3 responding with breakage about POAY.
FI-2 car countdowns would round things out at 0430 with a far enough and arequest for a 3.

0240-0455/03-02-2022 was a low-event trip, so why so long and especially -- as more retentive readers will note -- why so long between locations? The fabled higher elevations for Worcester County featured an accumulation of mixed precipitation. Mixed, also, were the efforts and effects of treatment in a mix of locales.
There was Yard Channel hash early on, but of the P&W variety. Naught company was IDable until 0249, "AY-4" merging from car countdown garbles at 0252.
There would be intermittent ongoing hash for the next few, but that would stop before the 0315 viewing of the dark 333 WLs. In sequence, the 334 ELs would be at Stop and the 1 WB stagger and 335s dark.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were at Stop and the yard MT. There was naught visible at LaChance Furniture or the Wilkins Road dogleg, ditto east of the dark 346 WL at 0345. There was always the possibility that an EB hadn't gotten far enough E for the 345s to have gone dark earlier, but on the EB leg of the trip, they were still at Stop.
Further EB, 0355 AMTK garble showed the scanner was still working. At 0401, the 333 WLs were -- again -- dark, and at 0402, a breaking D-3 confirmed that FI-2 had lined and locked the Lafarge switch normal, with something further about the Camp, the yard, and Track 2.
The EB staggers for 330 were at Approach, the 330.8 WBs and 330 WLs and Els dark, the GL WLs at Stop, and the FG WLs dark.
At 0416 a garbling D-3 asked somebody -- mebbe FI-2 -- about a runaround, and 1 later, the FI-1/2 was predictably MT. Given Lafarge, predictable as well was that no shorties were visible on East Side.
Post refueling stop and at 0428, the EB staggers for Derby were dark, a covered hopper still on the E end of the RVJ stub.
There was some Yard Channel garble at 0445, but naught else.
The other usual presences? Dunno.

0235-0430/03-04-2022 was another low-event trip, P&W and CSX hash starting things off, with D-3 hash at 0239. There would be short and rare static bursts until 0259 when D-3 rogered and thanked Q426 for whatever they'd just said. No further Q426/7 info would come outta the scanner's speaker. 5 later, there would be a both-sides-broken AY-3/D-3 exchange.
At 0310, the 333 WLs were dark, the 334 Els at Stop and the the 1 WB stagger and 335s dark in the usual sequence, all to radio silence, at least for me.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were dark, and PD Gardner was kind enough to prove the scanner was still working. The Extension and 1 were pretty well filled with general, there were racks and hoonose what else on the W end of 1 or more tracks to the S.
EB and at 0335, there was Yard Channel hash from which "West End" escaped clear, and 7 later the 333 WLs were dark.
Further E, the EB staggers for 330 were at Approach, the 330.8 WBs, 330 WLs and Els dark, and the GL WLs at Stop.
The FG WLs were dark, and at 0355, dark, solo and E-facing KCIR sat in the FI-1/2 parking spot with a marker on its W end. The EB staggers for Derby would be dark at 0401, a covered hopper still on the E end of the RVJ stub.
At 0409, "15 to go, POAY" came through the speaker, followed in 1 by the breaking D-2 side of things involving somebody being clear of BY, the gates at Meadowcroft Street, and taking something off power.
0419 would provide a clear "AY-4" among hash, and 5 later, D-3 would ask AY-3 if they were coming back to the yard light power, any immediate further developments stepped on by AMTK.
There would be Dispatcher-side garble at 0426 and again at 0430, but I'm guessing it mebbe mighta been D-2 on a more easterly antenna.

STB, I do hope proceedings are moving apace.

0239-0445/03-07-2022 was busy from the start, 0239 being when a semi-clear D-3 called out to 22K and advised that there were 9 waters on 1, asking if they'd run into them yet. They were to shove the waters off the pad, and when they were done yarding, the power was to be left on IM-1. After some hash, there was a discussion -- dunno whether still with 22K or somebody else -- about POED and Mechanicville.
0243 was when D-3 would call out to Q426 -- in keeping with the pre-1230 crossing noise I'd heard for X7.8 -- and advise them to give the Train Master a call on the radio. Guessing 426 mighta asked about POAY cuz then D-3 replied that "they" were currently at Graniteville, but were running into issues, and to give the TM a call, and he'd explain. To conserve suspense so it doesn't become as expensive as gas is getting, naught would be heard of the Q426/TM convo, nor would naught further be heard to, from, or about Q426/7.
On the heels of his time with 426, D-3 would call out to AY-3, say he was checking in on how they were making out, and roger whatever their response was.
0302 was the start of receptions for 22K's various car countdowns, and at 0307 and 0309, D-3 would initiate fuzzed convos with ED-9. They were to pull down 2 or 1 and grab a marker. There was also something about a need to recrew at Millers Falls. The ED-9 side was unheard, strange given later events.
At 0312, D-2 gave a broken 241 to mebbe NA-2 with the 7489 for N???, the same time that the 333 WLs were dark. 22K kept active, and the 334 Els would be at Stop and the 1 WB stagger dark. On my way over to the also-dark 335s a doe froze, not in front of my car, but 100' off to the side. Mebbe evolution is kicking in. A spell of radio silence most definitely kicked in.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were at Stops. 4 in the yard had some general from Royal Steam Heater W to the E end of the Pratt yard. A start W was made to see what might be at 346, but at 0330 there was some Dispatcher-side hash, followed shortly by an ED-9 call of a Slow Approach. The 345 Els were rechecked, but were still at Stop, and ED-9 gave/got the words about being good for 30, then another 30, hints enough that my WB trip should be resumed. Guessing coulda been East Fitchburg, but hoonose?
There were racks visible at both LaChance Furniture and the Wilkins Road dogleg, but naught was visible at 346 except for the WL at Stop at 0342, the same time that D-3 advised somebody he was ready copy. He took down a car ID and confirmed that the issue was shoes. ED-9 next briefly reoccupied the airwaves with something about a crossover.
The EB trip would start off quiet, and the 345 ELs would still show Stops. From ~0350 on, there would be occasional, but hashed car countdowns, and at 0359, the 333 WLs were dark.
Further E, the EB staggers for 330 showed a Medium Approach for 1 and an Approach for 2, showing also that not only at least part of the route for 400 was in, but also ED-9 wasn't coming W in the near term. Always possible we'd leapfrogged each other.
The 330 WLs and Els were dark, but the all-Stops GL WLs showed that there was still part of 400's route to go in. The FG WLs were dark, and at 0412, the FI-1/2 parking spot was MT. 5 later, the EB staggers for Derby would be dark and the RVJ stub MT.
Among rare garbles, at 0423, somebody told POAY to hold cuz there were cars on the other track, no further deets.
Hash -- sparse at that -- would get served for the balance of the trip.

0235-0435/0309-2022 was a short yet eventful trip. Yard Channel hash -- sometimes plentiful and sometimes not -- would start at 0240. The 1st semiclarity would come at 0303 when AY-3 reached out to D-3, my increasing distance from the Willows compromising AY-3 receptions and my position relative to Mount Wachusett doing the same for D-3's. What did emerge was that there would be a wait for EDPO, now at Derby. Naught further would get to me to, from, or, about either AY-3 or EDPO. Guessing EDPO would be highballing Ayer.
At 0309, the 333 WLs were dark, the expectable -- Stops for the 334 Els and darkness for the 1 WB stagger and 335s -- all to radio silence.
Halfway WB up Da Hill came "Back it up," and all the way up Da Hill, the 345s were all at Stop. W-facing NS 6945 was sitting at the W end of the yard, the rest of the power obscured by cars on the 2 E of West Switch. The C was involved in doing what Cs do on the ground before asking for any moves in a pickup, so things were quiet. The cars extended E onto the Single, DS trashes on and however far E of the the Pearson Boulevard UGB. I got EB, and when I was at the crest of Rte. 2, came Yard Channel garble with a clear "ED-9," an ID bolstered for the Gardner WB by the DSs on the UGB.
2 later, came a D-2 shoutout to LA-2 on Channel 2 while I was losing elevation, so naught further got heard. Curious that I could hear D-2 from there on Channel 2 (mebbe the Billerica antenna), but have trouble hearing D-3 on Channel 2 when I'm W of Shirley.
At 0339, the 333 WLs were dark, and further E, the EB staggers for 330 showed a Medium Approach for 1 and an Approach for 2. The 330.8 WLs, 330 WLs and Els and -- in a change -- the GL WLs were all dark.
A few later, the FG WLs were also dark, and at 0353, the FI-1/2 parking spot was MT. 3 later, Boston West would break the radio silence, and 3 after that, the EB staggers for Derby were dark. The curious sight of the day was an immobile coyote boldly disobeying safety standards by standing in the gauge of the 2 across from the still-MT RVJ stub.
At 0402, there would be some Yard Channel hash outta which "POAY" would emerge. The remaining attributable receptions for the balance of the trip would be POAY car countdowns and 3-steps. That naught would be heard to, from, our about Q426 would be another curiosity, given that I'd heard X7.8 crossing noise ~0220 and grade-climbing power noise when I was going to my car a few later.
