Was the EDPW yarded/tied down at Gardner for a P&W WOGR /GRWO crew to pick up? Did ED9 crew return to E Deerfield light engines? Just curious...

I think it's the first move to reflect the reality that the railroad now stops at 312 and isn't joined at the hip with PAR any longer. There will be plenty more changes.

Hi all,

Looking for some info as I know the west end has a little less coverage. What's coming out of the West End of ED these days?

I would assume the non-daily PL1, NS 264/5 (short timers) and NS 11R/16R. Is B&E moving anything of their own west between ED and Rotterdam?

Swung by Deerfield this afternoon. Place was empty, I guess with MOED/SAED and EDMO/EDSA really just running thru and having very few setoffs, there isn't much blocking to do anymore. I did notice this..

I chased NS 16R-03 north out of Binghamton its 10,000 foot long consist was ten or so 5-packs of wells loaded with empty Arrowhead containers followed by five 5-packs filled out with empty blue Republic trash containers followed by 61 loaded autoracks. There was no general freight that would be set-out at Hoosick Jct or E Deerfield or Gardner or Ayer. I'm guessing this was an unusual event?

0740-1055/06-28-2024 was the span of something I hadn't done since before the pandemic -- go to and gawk Deerfield Things got seen and heard, not all of which were RR-related.
Hill Yard was busy, but garbled while I was in range, and at 0821, a breaking 346.6 gave somebody a no defects when I was about 10 miles W of her. 4 after that, an also-breaking B&E said something to somebody about a WB. 0829 was the time effective for a bit-less-broken Form G 309 a Line 4 to TC 1418 for CPF 384 and ????, that followed by the B&E telling SAED with NS 6983 to bring it up to the trailer.
Now comes a digression -- major road work that included 2 1-lane stretches is happening on Rte. 2 between E of Erving and W of Farley. It even looks like the road bridge at Farley is OOS. For those with memories of The Box Car, it is now Erving Station and serves ice cream, raspberry if the building's color is a guide.
Things were busy at Millers Falls. SAED was rolling through, and a conference -- white shirts and all -- was taking place in the land inside the wye, which was MT on my return. There was a regulator on the E leg of the wye N of the road.
1 more digression is that the Farren Care Center -- née Hospital -- was demolished last November after being closed in 2021.
Trew had a a few tanks -- presumably liquid asphalt -- but my timing was such that I had seen only hoppers earlier. The new bridge over the tracks has protective slats, but wide enough to allow all but extreme telephoto lenses to poke through. If the roundhouse still existed, it woulda been full, given all the idle power. There had been Yard-Channel hash staritng at 0845 that cleared to car countdowns, and 0932, somebody with the authority to say so would tell ED-5 to stand by.
By 0900, SAED was crossing the Connecticut, so i started heading E. I hadn't gotten far enough W to see the Bridge of Flowers, but the EB trip did give a good view of the Bridge of Trees over the Millers at the Erving-Wendell border. The last time I saw it, it had been foliage-free.
