I didn't see them in a quick search this morning (Hamilton Rd., the auction, Farmingdale) so I'm not sure if they were in Lakewood or not.
Sskid, I'm sure they stopped at Hamilton Rd last night because the water was over the railhead at the west side of the crossing (water was barely below the railhead this morning); not sure about Conrail, but on the BDRR, the SBO goes like this...
"Diesel-electric locomotives shall not be operated (under load or drifting) through running or standing water which is above the top of rail, except under specific authority of the General Manager." They probably had to get permission to proceed...
Also, the power was out in Shrewsbury early this morning (I think from about 3:30am to 5:30am), so they may have snuck by; when the grade crossing protection is out of service and the conductor protects with fusees, the engineer does not have to sound the horn. The rumble of those 645's usually wakes me up, but I was really out last night.
That's all I've got for now......
