that 503 was put out to bid but no one has responded. Sounds like the LIRR has got itself an expensive paperweight (along with 3100 now).
4011 left Kawasaki in early May.
Is it back in service? Kawasaki put two signs on either end of the car that were not readable from passing trains. They could have been instructions.
Or a note that says "Nope. Can't fix it."
