602 is currently the only one delivered to GO, and is undergoing non-revenue testing.

In order to really top a four-axle unit's performance using six axles, you'd need a larger power assembly as well, which would eat up more fuel.
With some modifications to the modules, the F40C can load up much faster if desired. I am sure they restrict the loading time to prevent slippage of the wheels, avoiding rail burn. They do the same thing with freight units. The power is there, it just takes longer to apply that power to the wheels, by design.

Caught GO 602 at Ajax, Ontario, GO station early Saturday Morning (approx 0100-0130hrs) on the GO Sub. Facing east (big surprise), she stood infront of a complete F59PH and ten car train set, though not coupled and roughly 5 -7 feet from the F59. I was passing on the 401 and only saw it for about 10 seconds.

I suppose they were using it to push/pull the train with the F59 along for protection. Could have been a 12 car train, but I wasn't counting as the first thing that caught my eye was a westbound CN freight on the adjacent CN Kingston Sub.

I saw GO 602 working a westbound train at Ajax (Friday, Feb 15, 2008 @ 0736hrs) with an F59PH. First time I've seen one in revenue service. I still prefer the F59's, but they'll grow on me (like the F59's did).

GO 602 made its first revenue trips on Valentine's Day on the Lakeshore line and worked a regular shift over the weekend. So far all trains had the 602 paired with F59PH 560. MP40PH-3Cs 603, 604, and 605 have also been delivered with 601 due to arrive soon and 606 on the way. 602 is the only one to pull a revenue train to date.

For those waxing nostalgic for the F59s already, here's a photo of the Bathurst St yard from 1986:

After watching many of the youtube videos with the MP40s in them (i've seen 602, 603, and 605), the turbos on the MP40s are very loud. Is there a reason for this? It's a brand new prime mover, right? Normally I hear this sound from older EMD freight locomotives working upgrade.
