There was a Fairmount cancellation.

#FairmountLine Train 773 (5:45 pm from South Station) cancelled today. Alternate bus service will be provided. #mbta
I'm not to surprised considering the big swing in temps the last few days but this isn't looking good with most of winter to go still.

Ah, must have missed that one. Hopefully the weather will stabilize at one range of temps and not be too hard on commuters and equipment.

I like ur optimism but after the last 4-5 days it doesn't look like stabilizing temps is gonna happen ;)

This just in...

Haverhill Line delayed 15 to 30 minutes due to signal problem

Due to a power problem in Boston trains will be delayed at least 15 to 30 minutes

Last updated: Jan 7 2014 8:06 AM

All north side lines are getting the alert. Hopefully this doesn't turn into a repeat of Friday afternoon.

63/64, 257/262 and 355/356 are the early victims of this morning's mess. 262's passengers are being told that buses are en route - don't know if those are real replacement buses, or they're just being told to use the 136/137.

Sperry car started testing the Worcester yesterday. It was the first day of a normal test -- just a little late on account of the dismal weather of late. Spending the day on the yard lead at CP 4 to avoid the problems caused by the large temperature swing.

Today's temp swing doesn't help. It's a good 30-40 degrees colder then yesterday.

Was it because of the temps or a mechanical issue with the reservoir?

The people who rode Thursday hit the jackpot clearly :)

It apparently didn't lead to a Service Alert, but the 01-13-2014 412 needed a 241 from D-3 at 0707 to get out of the yard and onto 1 to get to GL.

I read this forum every day and I confess that I could only parse 60% of that. Stuck on D-3 and GL.
