Does anybody know why:

1. #22 (27th) eastbound Texas Eagle lost 7'00" from Pine Bluff to STL? Train was 12'00" late into CHI.

and

2. #'s 305 & 307 (28th) were annulled short of STL?

The current winter storm that dumped snow in NM and the Texas panhandle, left lots of rain in Mo
and snow in Chicago,Flooding stopped the Mules, and made hash of the Eagle's timekeeping, weather related delays.

CSX X38707 pulled apart took a while to put it back together and pump air which from what I heard was close to an hour. Train was quite long heard the conductor say 16000ft?? Deadhead crew offered to pilot over the West Shore but that was shot down.

Does anybody know:

1. Why #50 (12th) eastbound Cardinal Dp. CHI 2' 10" late; and

2. If #354 (12th) eastbound Wolverine really lost 9"00 between Troy & Pontiac?

Acela #2167 delayed ~20 min+ from Boston to NYC in area of Pelham Bay due to plastic caught in catenary. Dispatcher issued Form D for train to drop pantographs and coast through problem area (milepost 9.5 to 9.0). Probably related to high winds all day.

Does anybody know why westbound Wolverine #353 (27th) lost 4' 45" between ARB & JXN and then another 1' 10" at BTL?
Train was 5'45" late into CHI.
No corresponding delays to any eastbound trains.

Wolverine #353(27) probably was the train involved in a fatal grade crossing collision in Grass Lake, MI: Amtrak vs. car crash closes E. Michigan Avenue in Grass Lake. The update linked to on that page reports that the driver was a 53-year-old man from Ann Arbor who ignored the warning lights and working gates.

Yet another grade crossing collision and a P-42 with front end damage.
