It looks llike there will not be a strike after all.
VIA Rail wrote:MONTREAL - VIA Rail Canada is pleased to announce that it has concluded a tentative agreement with the Teamster Canada Rail Conference, representing over 350 locomotive engineers at the national passenger rail service, thus avoiding the possibility of a strike that could have begun on December 24.

Further details of the agreement will be provided following a vote by the members of the union, expected to be held in the coming days.
