Would they every upgrade the CT river line to Newport? I live in burke and the rail seems to be getting pretty damn bad thru Barton

The north and southbound trains both canned in StJ last night after 210 crapped out. Today, a switch crew put in a full day sorting things out, first putting a 34 car White River Jct. train together, before shuffling cars over to the new salt shed.

After more salt moves, the Newport crew arrived to haul 9 cars up north with 2280.

Hello,
Just to add to Casey's report, the WACR and Barretts' crews have been busy filling the new salt shed with road salt (a good thing given the warm, slippery snows over the past week). GMTX GP38-2 2617 was left in St. Johnsbury at least Monday through Wednesday to spot and unload cars (probably the source of most of the cars going south today). Here's a couple of photos from yesterday looking north and south:

Hopefully, this works (only took three tries!).
Best,
Fritz
