Noted at Mott Haven wye today 3 flat cars wit PERX reporting marks. One of them had a crane marked PERX with what looked like a 30+ foot boom on it. the third car had a bobcat front loader.

Private wreck service or something to do with Harlem or Hudson line reconstruction?

I believe it heads out at night to do work around Fordham platform. It's a contractors piece of equipment so a Metro North conductor will pilot it up to the worksite maybe sometime this weekend.

PERX is (or at least was) Perini Corp.--a general contractor.

They had the contract to rebuild some of the Hudson line stations a few years ago so they probably have the contract for this one too.

Crane and two flat cars have been on north end of Highbridge Yard all week.Marking on crane is ECCO III contractors from Yonkers NY.

Also ballast "Vacuum" with one of our work gondolas and I believe contractor-owned bay window caboose sitting in Bethel siding today presumably for crossing/track rehabilitation due to issues with signal system with Danbury Branch.

There have been two of those Vacuum's parked on siding north of Depot Place overpass and Highbridge Yard. One of them must have been moved up to Bethel. Also looks like a three car Loram rail grinder opposite Highbridge Yard on ramp track under Deegan.

There has also been what seems to be a self-propelled work gondola called a "Slot Machine" on the siding at Depot St near High Bridge for a few months now. It has a GREX reporting mark on it so it's a contractor's and not MN's equipment.
