I saw it on the wire train on Monday and Tuesday at woodmont. anyone know if will be in passenger service?

2012 and 2008 got re-activated for waterworld last fall.
the 2008 ended on a mini in Danbury but was pulled off and put back on standby duty.
the 2012 I don't think you will see in passenger service either.

Its been in Stamford for a while as power for Wire train.
and no it was never named "Lightning "

The Horsepower rating is still 1850. despite the FL9m's having 645 power assemblies the Generator and other stuff stayed the same so max available Hp stayed at 1850 Hp
as far as FL-9's going anywere none were sold but a few were donated to Museums, and Amtrak sold their remaining units to M&E in New Jersey.
MNCR as state agency is basicly lending the older units to Museums.
