The Hell Gate Bridge....

Hey does Metro-North run on the Hell Gate Bridge. I was wondering because I have never seen photos of any of their trains operating across the bridge. I know that Metro-North uses catenary on some of their trains, so I was wondering does it split from Amtrak & then meet back up some place else along the line, if so where & what station or interlocking would the two meet back up at..

Any information you guys may have would be greatful, thanks in advance..

Oh one more question do the M-6 trains operate into New York's Penn Station (i think they do, i cannot remember) & if so how far up to do they go...

No I'm from Philadelphia. I have traveled to New York a few times on New Jersey Transit & the Path trains before. In Penn Station you cannot always see all way on the other side when Amtrak trains are at the platform. Normally if I visit with friends they are not interested in the trains & rush me out of Penn Station so I was just wondering...

The reason i asked is because I thought that I read somewhere once the tracks or something was upgraded on the Hellgate Bridge that Metro-North would resume running across it, however I think I may have misread what I was reading.

Anyway thank you for all the helpful information. I'll call you my fairy godfather of the train world, since you have been able to help me with most of my questions that I have.. Thank you as well David & I will be sure to check out these sites..
