when riding on the cta subway system does the light go on and off when the train passes through a curve or a hill?

There are some short gaps in the third rail in the subway, usually located at crossovers, which may cause the lights on the train to flicker a bit, or turn off briefly for about 5 seconds. Otherwise, going through turns and such has no effect on the lights, they should always stay on...
