Today at Hoboken, I contemplated on taking the PATH going to ???. All the destination terminal lights were off on this train, easily confusing not-so-regular riders of where this train was going. Then, voila, ... five seconds before departure, "WTC" lit up on the train.

Aren't conductors supposed to switch the terminus lights as soon as the train approaches the terminal? (this is normal, but today's situation was a first for me)

Actually, the engineer usually does it since the switches are in the cab, and most usually do. Sometimes they forget such as this morning at 33rd St - train pulls in the signs still read "33". Engineer leaves the cab w/o changing the sign. After a few minutes the conductor opens the cab door and changes the sign to the "JSQ" reading.
