I'm to lazy to look for my previous post in another thread on the subject, but - strictly addressing the Norristown High Speed Line - given the similarity of the operation when compared with a branch line of the Berlin S-Bahn, perhaps SEPTA could use the following designations:

S1 = 69th Street to Norristown
S2 = 69th Street to King of Prussia
S3 = Norristown to King of Prussia

with the "S" being shorthand for Suburban Rapid Transit. If you really wanted to be Germanic, then the S3 designation could instead be S21.

Extrapolating further:

MFSE
U1 = all stop trains
U11 = "A" stations
U12 = "B" stations

BSL

U2 = Local
U21 = Express
U22 = Blue Light Special
U25 = Ridge Spur

with the "U" being shorthand for Urban Rapid Transit.
