For those wondering what I meant, I did not mean that it would be better in Montclair, it is a quiet zone (at least it was the last time I went there). A "Quiet Zone" wouldn't have made any difference in this incident. The driver has already stated that he did not hear the horn or notice ...
This appears to have had absolutely nothing with whether or not the horn was blown! 1. There is a law of physics, often incorrectly attributed to Sir Issac Newton, that two objects cannot occupy the same space at the same time. The train and the truck attempted to violate this principle. 2. The driv...

If injuries were sustained due to a failure of the bulkhead door how does that impact the never-ending discussion on strength and weight of rail vehicles? Is there potentially a design/build flaw in this car? Is it more fodder for the FRA to require even stronger/heavier cars? Is it reason to move ...
Isn't NJ Transit going to put a layover yard in Greendell? My best guess if for local trains from Hoboken.
Also, will this line be a part of the MB or ME or will it be named?

Hello all,
I read on Wikipedia that Amtrak operated one train over the Lackawanna Cut-off from Hoboken to Scranton. Does anyone know what equipment was used on the train? Were there any passengers traveling to Scranton. Any info is great.
Has NJT aborted the project or something because there is NO progress since 2012.

I honestly don't know how and why I thought the Comet Is were retired in 2004 and 2005. I thought that back in LATE 2008. That was when the 5114, 5120, and maybe the 5123 were running. The low doors were retired in 2005. Originally the Comet Vs were intended to replace all Comet I and I-B cars by 2...
I did get a chance to see the SEPTA comet Is before becoming OOS.
