That engineer changes the horns on the locomotives? I heard about an engineer doing this and now we know who it is.

Who are strates shows? I hear upstairs that it would be something similar to the circus train.

Strates Shows is negotiating with the railroad to come to LI by train. Its possible that they will be here next year and the move will be similar to the circus train. So dont break your cameras yet. we had the same engineer that ran the train out, run the train back. he had to sign a letter promisin...

A train travelling on a track that is not next to a platform does not have to blow the horn to warn people on the platform. there was a superintendents notice restricting horn sounding in that area unless there is an emergency. your video and another on here have a clear audio of the horn of the eng...

Thankyou for posting this video. Sounding of the horn in this area is restricted to emergencies only. The engineer will be disciplined and cannot deny sounding the horn unnecessarily.

Zephir railcar mover

The rail road purchased a zephir rail car mover. It is a very nice machine and remote control. M. of E. has begun using this machine on the property with a fair degree of success. The car movers like the machine and I think it will be easy to qualify conductors to operate it. There are logistics to ...

But going back to my initial concept, unless you have a pair one engineers INTERGRATED and sharing in the running the train in the same way an airliner does, (THERE BOTH HAVE HANDS ON ROLES), it doenst make logistic nor financial sense. The engineers are the problem. AS was the first with a solutio...

What is under consideration is assigning an additional conductor to the crew, so he/she can ride in the cab with the engineer on overnight and early am shifts. That persons only job would be to supervise the engineer by calling out signals and making sure they are traveling at proper speed, followin...

Tom was a fantastic person with a keen sense of politics and the future of our transportation system. He will be missed by all. Especially the SMART- UTU. Will A.S. retire now that Tom is retiring?

Mr. Prendergast was in my opinion the finest President of the LIRR I ever worked under. His ability to solve problems, manipulate complex decisions and force the unions to tow the line, was refreshing. I believe the MTA flourished under his tenure and he will be missed. Best of luck in retirement, T...
