MNCR does not want them into park avenue tunnel where a passenger could look out and loos his head. The Mafersa's have manual sliding doors.
Next stop, Willoughby.

NYP is a pipedream for MNCR, they did a study, studies are like toilet paper in Choo Choo land. Studies are not plans, and there is no plan to go to NYP. Agree, and I think I said that right off, as I've been fairly convinced on these forums by those "in the know" that PSA is not going to...

I don't have the exact link, but try nycsubway.org or forgotten-ny.com

Planet Pizza, that was it. Not familiar with Olive Tree. The diner is uusually pretty quick.

There are currently no proposals to put rapid transit on the Hell Gate Bridge. You may wish to ask your Hell Gate question in a new thread, however. -otto- Thanks, I may. It was a related part of a question of taking out the connection at 180th St. to the NEC, but it may definitely be worth a new t...

Is there anywhere to grab food within a 3 minute walk of Greenwich? I have a 15 minute layover every morning and evening. Something for coffee in the morning and a sandwich in the evening would be nice. -otto- Tons of places last time I was there, roundabout 98-99. There used to be a great pub call...

Again I would like to ask moderator to move this tread to LIRR forum. Why? The subject is on Penn access for MNRR. The prompt may have been ESA, but the original author's question pertained to to ESA's impact on PSAS. I think only one or two posts have been off-topic, and converting Madison yards i...

There is one other section of the NY W & B besides the 5 line in service, though sporadically. Down off of Oak Point Yard near Harlem River is a freight customer called S&S soap. They get about 1 covered hopper a month. The catenary bridges are still intact above their spur. That's great in...

Times Square is almost equidistant from GCT and Penn. Agree, but on a north/south axis, it's west side. Same diff if you're walking or taking a subway hop, and it's a single hop. But if you move north or south on broadway/6th, that's two subway rides vs one, at least until you get below Union Sq, f...

Thanks Otto, will do. I'm sure they've probably already been answered, I'll just search the threads. PC thread, too. Thanks again.

Or better yet, let's rebuild a Budd RDC like they used to run in shuttle service on the Danbury and Upper Harlem. I read somewhere the Colorado Rail Car DMU was not reliable. Perhaps some of our resident insiders can speak to this? I heard they were very noisy (the DMU's, not the insiders :-D...

And on that note I bow to the two with the correct knowledge :-D Thanks for the info :P No need to bow, but I appreciate it! :-D It's nice to be right once in a while, because Lord knows, I'm never right at home! Rule 1: The Wife is Always Right Rule 2: When the wife is wrong, refer to rule ...

Proof? I'll take the credibility of National Geographic unless someone has a credible source. I enjoyed the NG special, too. Lots of great footage and background. I don't remember ownership being discussed, but I suggest a little "scholarship" before asserting a position: http://en.wikipe...

I don't think that we'll see PENN access from MNRR anytime soon. There are too many hurdles to cross and Penn is JAMMED. Not to mention, there isn't much of a need for MNRR service to Penn. Grand Central is just as conveniant for city office works, if not more conveniant. There is far more commerci...

http://www.trainweb.org/ct/mnpenn.htm This is all I could find - the MTA site had something on it, but the link off the cap constr page is gone now. I'm not sure what the URL was, I may have it stored somewhere, if so, I'll post. Penn access would run over the Hell's Gate or West Side Lines, and no...
