More than two-weeks since the introduction of the River LINES’ 15-minute pick ups, customers are enjoying a fast and smooth commute during the morning and evening peak periods. But the pick ups don’t stop there. NJ TRANSIT is in search of the best pick up lines customers have for the chance to be crowned the “King and Queen of the Pick Up Line.”
Today, NJ TRANSIT staff will be at the River LINE Trenton Station and the Walter Rand Station in Camden, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. to find out customers favorite and worst pick-up lines. Customers also will have the opportunity to register online for the weekly contest and the opportunity to be picked “King and Queen of the Pick Up Line.” They will also be able to get information on the new 15-minute peak period schedules.
From now until July 11, customers can log on to www.15minutepickup.com to enter their best pick up line for a weekly chance to win fun prizes. Prizes include tickets to Six Flags Great Adventure. Hurricane Harbor, Battleship New Jersey, the State Aquarium, the Camden Riversharks, gift certificate to the Madison Pub in Riverside and a monthly pass on the River LINE. NJ TRANSIT representatives will be on hand at the River LINE Trenton Station and the Walter Rand Station in Camden.
Weekly winners will also be eligible for the ultimate prize – to be crowned king or queen of the best pick up line at the July 25th Camden Riversharks game. In addition, the king and queen will be able to invite ten of their closest friends and family to witness the coronation from a box that includes food and refreshments, throw out the first pitches and win additional prizes to destinations served via the River LINE as well as a River LINE monthly pass.
“The pick up line campaign is part of our on-going marketing initiative to promote not only the new 15-minute rush hour departures, but the entire River LINE service, said Lynn Bowersox, Assistant Executive Director, NJ TRANSIT. “Our goal is to continue to develop creative ways to get the word out about the River LINE and attract new riders.”
The light rail continues to offer an introductory fare of $1.10 for a one-way trip anywhere on the system. Free parking is available at most stations, with total capacity for 3,300 cars.
