Are you referring to that one trip in particular or the entire SEPTA system as a whole?

... because you could be talking about them both. It's just that bad.

The last time a trolley was in CC was when the first PCC-II arrived they brought it over the rails to the siding on 12th street next to the Reading Terminal for a public viewing.

The holiday trolley that ran from 12th and Noble to Bainbridge or Snyder back in 2000 did quite well as I remember. There's always a good turnout when there's a special event trolley such as the Black Friday trolley

The holiday trolley and other special services were operated at the time through a special request from the City, extra subsidy to cover the costs and with Center City District support. The siding by the Reading Terminal Market was specifically installed to accommodate special ecursions from Center City and the old Welcome Line (some signs are still on the loop). Ridership was better in the last year it ran, but never reached its full potential. Delays along the line were common, usually due to illegally parked trucks. When parents have small kids, the last thing they want to do is sit stranded on a trolley. Odd, the City would pay for the service and then not manage their streets to make sure it ran as advertised.

Given that service on the 15 seems dead for now, your words may be truer than you intended :-D
