ProgressiverRailroading.com:
New Jersey Transit's board yesterday authorized a $250 million contract for initial construction elements of the Raritan River Bridge replacement project in New Jersey, and a $4.1 million contract for preliminary design of the central concourse extension at Penn Station in New York City.

The board approved a contract with George Harms Construction Co. Inc. to construct bridge approach spans, lift bridge and flanking spans piers and perform associated land work for the first phase of construction of the Raritan River bridge replacement project.
...
The existing bridge sustained significant damage during Hurricane Sandy in 2012. The bridge replacement will occur in three phases and cost $595 million to complete.

Quote from the article;
Gov. Phil Murphy, Department of Transportation Commissioner Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti, NJ TRANSIT President & CEO Kevin Corbett, Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin, and local elected officials celebrated a groundbreaking ceremony for construction on the Raritan River Bridge Replacement Project, which will replace the existing swing-span bridge that carries NJ TRANSIT’s North Jersey Coast Line trains over the Raritan River between Perth Amboy and South Amboy. The current bridge, originally built in 1908, suffered damage during Superstorm Sandy, and has experienced recurring maintenance issues. The new bridge will integrate resilient structural designs and materials to withstand future storm surges and be significantly less vulnerable to severe weather events.

“This 112 year-old bridge is an essential rail link for communities all along NJ TRANSIT’s North Jersey Coast Line, carrying approximately 11,000 daily customers and connecting them to major job centers in Newark, Jersey City, and Manhattan,’’ said NJ TRANSIT President & CEO Kevin Corbett.”

One of the official documents about the new Raritan River Bridge. Curious as to how the new bridge will benefit the Central Jersey rail freight market.

Would anyone happen to know if NJ Transit plans to increase the clearance from South Amboy to Perth Amboy to allow Plate F cars to access Browns yard?

Considering what I've been reading (including here) and hearing about how hostile NJT is to any freight on their lines, it wouldn't surprise me to see them REDUCE clearances... :(

I doubt they will raise clearance but truthfully there’s really only a few people out of Browns that would use Plate F cars.

We are getting 286k cars though which at the moment is more important.

I notice they are putting up the new catenary structure (supports) for the southern approach to the new Raritan River bridge.
