Three units (I forgot the #s) have been spotted in Selkirk. Looks like they are almost here.

There's the numbers! Thanks!

Now, can CSX send them east on the right train?

We can hope the rentals are sent east!
They call it the "black hole" of Selkirk for a reason!

The 301, 330 & 418 into Framingham last night/this morning on
Q436. Expect them to be on B721 today.

B721 is the Framingham to Chelsea / East Boston roundtrip same day local freight service? Where would it drop the leasers? Beacon Park, or can it get them closer to BET?

Wherever the T wants them to. That train does go through BET en route to Everett Terminal, so they can certainly drop off there if the space is available today.

Likely will be dropped on one or two of the tracks at 3rd Ave/Somerville behind BET.

Whether they make B721 today or not is unknown.

What is the plan for these units? A lot of railroad employees are telling me they are not needed by the MBTA anymore due to the increase in HSP46 deliveries/acceptances.

Covering Keolis' keester so they stop racking up the max monthly fines on their contract. They make > the cost of the lease on these units the more they DON'T run, because them not running means that the commuter rail's OTP has been pulled out of the gutter successfully enough that the size of the fines is declining. This was probably a move initiated--and possibly paid for in-full--by Keolis itself and not the T for profit reasons (or, rather, staunching the erosion of profit margins lost to the monthly fines). From a P&L standpoint it was the smart thing to do.

And, yes...pray that they don't have to get pressed into service. These are beaters like the MARC retreads were beaters: take them as their reliability is, not as you want them to be. And hope that you don't need a push halfway through your trip to work.

There is a big difference between the MARC units and these. The MARC units were not rebuilt a few years before retirement. They were beat and just about dead when they were sent up here. These former AMT units were rebuilt in 2009 and ran till 2013/2014. They should be in FAR better shape than the MARC units.

The trio did not come over on B721 tonight.

Talk is they are headed south on CSX to Middleboro for the Mass Coastal to
take to Rochester.

So it's possible these won't be needed until next winter if ever.

Are they going to get Keolis or MBTA logo stickers?

Out of Framingham on B725 tonight
