Was in Topeka for a few days and noticed there seems to be a coal train running through pretty regular (every 2nd or third day?) I thought the Red Rock train went via Kansas City now. Also seemed to be a daylight switcher/local. Does anyone have current information about Topeka operations?? Thanks

I used to live just east in Lawrence, and here's what I noticed between 2006 and 2009:

1. Evening WB drag freight that also brings dead power to Topeka for work/storage
2. Night time EB coal train, usually with "Executive" MAC's
3. Amtrak 3/4 mostly on schedule
4. Local based in Lawrence with some sort of rebuilt geep (GP35, GP30, GP38 => GP39M) that shunts around mid-day (not sure if it runs in to KC or Topeka or just takes loads that the drag drops off)
