An article appearing in the 10 26 2007 issue of the Dorchester Star stated that the Dorchester County Council voted unanimously expressing their support of the North Dorchester Railroad. There is no web addition of the Dorchester Star.
The North Dorchester Railroad is scenic railroad venture headed by David Owens of Vienna Maryland. David Owens wants to utilize the now unused line between Herlock and Preston. David Owens original idea was to use the line between Herlock and Vienna, but that was nixed because the Herlock Preston line is in better shape. The town of Herlock has shown interest in leasing their passenger cars to the North Dorchester Railroad.
The minutes of the Dorchester County Council will appear on the Dorchester County web site in about a week.
