The videos from the guy in Mattawamkeag with the camera in his back yard shows how much CSX is investing in this system.

In this latest video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aK_HjU7V5gA - a few things stand out.
At 10:05 they have a survey crew surveying the as built conditions including culverts.
At 20:46 to the end of the video you see they are removing all the old ties! Also you see engineers inspecting the work.

I'm interested in Mr. newpylong and others who are used to the Pan AM methods reaction especially the tie removal.
Aren't they supposed to just toss them into the woods? LOL

They probably changed that practice, after burning down all those campers at Wagon Wheel in Saco/Biddeford that one year. Right where I used to watch them pass by about 25 years ago.

Yeah it was common practice to leave them either by themselves next to the right of way or to leave them in small bundles along the right of way. They would be picked up several years later when someone complained, or they wanted to shred them at one of Pan Am System's subsidiaries Permatreat.
