Pretty interesting and well researched/presented "5 Investigates" segment on WCVB Thursday evening 11/3/22:

5 Investigates visited the city of Brotherly Love for two days last month to see how SEPTA runs its system. The similarities are clear:

- SEPTA is the sixth-largest transit system in the country, similar to the T, which is the 5th largest
- SEPTA's infrastructure dates to the early 1900s; the T dates back to 1897

But so are some of the differences. The T's last published state of good repair backlog topped $10 billion — that's the amount of money to get the equipment in good working order. SEPTA's? $4.6 billion. In the last five years, the T has led the way in derailments, with 84 versus SEPTA's 37, and fires, with 823
