CR on the Southern Secondary

SA38 has a treat for us tonight.

4405 leading nose to nose with 6228!

It appears 6228 has some sort of issue. Sounds like the control stand isn’t working? Engine revs weird too…

Edit: Battery charger is busted.

SA38 is stopped at 5th street due to a illegally parked car fouling the tracks. K-9 unit from Brick is checking the car out with a dog…

SA38 Northbound through County Line Rd at midnight

It seems like today might've actually been the last SA-31/38 on the Southern it seems.

Might be time to rename this to "DRRR on the Southern Secondary" soon...

I think the date is now July 1st, unless it was changed again?

Most likely July 1st. I had a brief chat with SA38 before they did the crew change last night and they said Conrail will still be coming down here for the next 2-3 weeks. That, and they were told not to take the cars out of Red Bank yard yet. They’re having issues with the switches in there apparently.

Haven’t heard anything yet.

No train on the southern today. The regular engineer is on vacation and they could not find a fill-in.

CSX 6242 and CSX 4405 are coupled to what might be Woodhavens train in Browns. No crew in sight.

Perhaps they’ll have an SA38 bring the train down later? It’s highly unlikely and hasn’t happened in years, but hey, one can hope ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Confirmed SA38 will bring the train down tonight. They are gonna try to get it back as well.

SA38 is currently getting their Form Ds and will be leaving within half an hour.

Putting the train together now. They dropped 4405 and have 6242 with 9 cars. Might have more/less. Not done putting it together yet.
