First R-160 cars now on the property

I saw an R160 today at around 8:00 on a flatbed truck waiting for polcie escort on the NJ end of the GWB. Anyone know what this is about?

ummm i dont think those were R160s. The ones in coney island are the R143 cars for testing.

I wonder when they are gonna start testing the R160s.

IF they weren't R160s then they were R143s. In that case, why would R143s be there?

There are R143's in CIY for testing as well as the R160 pilots from KHI/KRC.

its very simple take the n train to stillwell
as you pass the 86th street ststion you approach the yards
look left for stll 27 now if the train is going slow
you will get a chance to see the number on the car
the one i saw was 8713
now is this an r160 or not

i sit outside my house and watch them go by

That is the R160B as seen in pics. They have similarities of the R143 except if you look closely.

I saw the same thing when I was riding an R32 N train to Pacific St., I even got a better look since these CI T/O's had to get off near there & I don't think those were R160's, asI did not see a lot of handbars as seen in those pics of the R160B's, but they might've been.
