The beauty of signals and cab signaling.
There's signals everywhere around here. And nothing ever gets that close!

Yes they do all the time, especially Mineola around AM and PM rush notice how close those trains get

The train in question likely received a Stop-and-proceed or Restricting aspect after his route was lined, allowing for the movement up close to the train in front of it. It is not at all unusual, and is a heavily used function in allowing the railroad more flexibility with getting trains over the road on-time.

It's possible that Divide tower Operator let the following train "flag" by the Home board at stop,with the caveat of" train ahead in block".

The conductor on 664 said there will be two more cars added Monday, and to corroborate that, and the remaining 3 cars were reported making their way up the Corridor tonight.

The train consist is as follows;

+LI 411 (DE30AC)
-MARC 7754 (MARC II Cab Car)
-MARC 7706 (MARC II Coach)
-MARC 7756 (MARC II Cab Car)
-MARC 7707 (MARC II Coach)
-MARC 7747 (MARC II Cab Car)
+LI 418 (DE30AC)

The other 3 cars arrived last night and were brought straight to Port Jeff Yard. 2 of the 3 are supposed to be added to the train leaving one as a spare.

Also here's my video of the train coming into LIC yesterday: https://youtu.be/xWOzKpoZzHM" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Why can't they also run the spare coach with these? I am assuming it is a platform length issue.

I know I'm dreaming but any chance they can lease some additional power as well?

That would be defeating it's purpose as a spare. It's there to replace any of the other cars if an issue arrises.

7 MARC cars might be the limit of a single DE HEP Inverter, 1 more then the 6 C-3 car limit .

(The Inverter is rated at 800 kw,and the main air compressor is on this inverter to boot!)

Question: Anyone hear any feedback from the riding public, normally used to C-3's and now riding coaches from the state of Maryland ?
